The Last Jedi: Rekindled (Released) — Page 16

I’d like to hear this music in the Battle of Crait: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMJ3kkj0HS8. Can you put it in?

The unfortunate reality of the Star Wars prequel and Disney trilogies is that they will always be around. Forever. They will never go away. It can never be undone.

I also prefer to be referred to as “TNT”, not “Freezing”.

I just made an account and i’m confused, how do I download this?

Simple: ask the poster for a PM linking to the edit.

Or PM the poster directly. Links aren’t allowed on the open forum.

Yes, I know that. He’ll just simply put in a comment saying “PM sent!” every times he privately sends the link.

Speaking of, PM sent!

I do recommend PM’ing me by clicking on my name and select “Start a private topic”. It keeps the thread a little cleaner.

That is a good idea! I think a helmet works. A corpse feels like a little too much I think.

Work’s been insanely busy the last few months, so not sure when, but that is something I’ll look into!

Disposing of Phasma in this way could be viewed as consistent with TLJ’s attitude of taking the piss out of things introduced in TFA, and would be about on the level of noticing that the Jedi texts were onboard the Falcon at the end (something I failed to see my second and third viewings despite knowing it was there).

Is it because there’s no images or renders of Phasma’s corpse?

I think he just means it would feel gratuitous.

It’s also probably easier to make a random stormtrooper helmet look like Phasma’s than to try and do it with the whole armor and cape combo.

Wow, the idea of adding Phasma’s helmet is one of those things that is so “simple” but will have such a major impact. Great idea!

There’s a dead stormtrooper revealed as Finn stands up, fairly close to camera and only viewed from one angle. A 2D image could probably be manipulated to take its place to serve as a dead Phasma. She’d even be in about the right place based on where the characters were before the kaboom.

I might even go for this change in the post-IX revision of my TLJ edit, if Phasma can be featured like this. Finn would make his character-arc-defining resolution away from nihilism/hiding by telling DJ, “you’re wrong,” then confirm it by going “where [they] belong.”

Here’s a suggestion: remove Finn saying that hyperspace-tracking is impossible, because it is contradicted by Finn planning to disable the tracker 20 minutes later and he knows where it is because he used to mop up that area.

I thought his plan was to disable the power to a ship system? That he assumed would affect the tracker?

Maybe First Order ships have to have line of sight of a ship entering hyperspace in order to track it. Since Finn was still unconscious during the battle, Finn didn’t know they witnessed their escape and thought it was impossible for the First Order to track them otherwise.

Finn didn’t think it was possible, but is pretty sure he knows how it’s down, given that it is.

“Wow, I didn’t think it was possible to encode video that fast. Must be a fast GPU that works the way others do that I’m familiar with. Gee whiz.”

Yes I agree that I don’t think Finn contradicted himself. He just put two and two together based on the new information.

Hal, I’ll take a look at those phasma options, thanks for the suggestion! Sorry for slowness here, still very busy with work unfortunately.

Okay, I found some time this morning to play a little, and was able to replace one of the stormtroopers in the wide running shot with phasma. In fact, it’s the stormtrooper that Finn jumps over as they run towards the shuttle. The only question would be how to get her into the previous shot. I think the trooper immediately over Finn’s shoulder would be too difficult with all of the rotoscoping that would need to be done. It also doesn’t appear perspective-wise to line up with the trooper than Finn jumps over. This is first pass, so curious if this plus a more obvious reveal in the first shot would work!

That looks nice! Honestly that first shot is so quick I don’t think it is really necessary, unless you wanted that attention to detail.

I think what is there would make a perfectly fine addition to your edit, given that you had already removed the Phasma fight.
It’s obviously a bit subtle, though, and ‘January 2018 me’ would probably have found it a little annoying that it was. FWIW. But again, adding this doesn’t hurt anything about your edit and makes removing the Phasma fight a better option than before.

Looks great, completely seamless. I don’t think you need a more obvious reveal, a subtle reveal is enough.
