Ok, right now I’m working on audio.

I’ve tracked down the 5.1 Castillian Spanish and the 5.1 Italian mixes, but still need to speed correct and sync to the NTSC versions.

If anyone has access to the Polish 5.1 or Japanese 5.1 mixes, I would also like to include those.

can the japanese 5.1 from the recent WOWOW broadcasts be used?

Wowow is based on the bluray mix rather than the DVD mix.

My one curiosity - will you be including a “fixed” dvd mix. If I remember correctly, the surround channels were swapped during portions of the 2004 audio master.

Preferred Saga:
1/2: Hal9000
3: L8wrtr
4/5: Adywan
6-9: Hal9000

Didn’t someone once make a “patched” version of the DVD mix?

Update:
First, I’m sorry that I’ve not posted the final versions yet! I live in Miami, and while we didn’t get Hurricane Dorian, I did have to spend a bit of that Labor Day weekend preparing my house in the event that we did.

In addition to that, the extra languages quickly ballooned to the point that I’m working on upwards of 15 foreign language subtitle tracks per film, which is 90 tracks. Fixing OCR errors in one’s native language is tedious enough, let alone 90, in languages I don’t actually speak.

I spent last weekend transcribing the crawl text for the various languages and throughout this week, I’ve finalized the different tracks for encoding to BD Sup. At this point I have all assets encoded for the PT, and should be able to finalize the OT this evening. I’ll spend Saturday muxing and QC’ing the different files in hopes of posting by Sunday.

I’ll then be able to start encoding the low-bitrate video tracks for upload later in the week.

At this point, the only thing I’d like to include, but haven’t been able to find would be Polish and Japanese audio and subtitles from the DVD releases. I might be able to include those in later releases, if I ever track down legitimate dvd rips.

I’m not planning to include any Blu Ray based audio tracks, and I’m not planning to create or include a fixed 5.1 mix. That’s not really the point of this release. You’ll notice that I’m not color correcting either. I think of that as one of the unique aspects of this particular version of ANH.

I have your earlier release and I really appreciate the lack of color correction. That made it so easy to match the Blu-ray to pull back the oddball things they did that make no sense.

Didn’t that only apply to ANH?

found this lot, they ship for $60 https://www.ebay.com/itm/STAR-WARS-GWIEZDNE-WOJNY-SAGA-8-DVD/163589564943

The Polish version is a voice over translation, as that is generally the preference in Poland. I’m not really willing to buy any more copies of the Star Wars DVDs, at this point. I welcome any help from other people though.

Today’s update:

I have everything squared away with audio and subtitles, but I’ve found some color-space conversion errors in my subtitle-removal comps for TPM and AOTC. I’ve finished recreating them correctly, but I’ll need to re-encode the video for Episodes I and II. I should be able to post by Tuesday evening.

Quick question: would you be willing to share full-bitrate encodes of just the burned-in subtitle parts for TPM and AOTC for anyone who might want them? Since they have the fade ins/outs and all that, which you can’t really do for softsubs IIRC.

Yeah, I could make that happen. 😃

Update:

I have the full bitrate encodes completed, along with short clips containing full bitrate encodes of the shots with hard subtitles.

I’ll be busy this evening, but I should be able to post on Saturday morning. I’m thinking that I’ll post the films individually on myspleen and share a resilio link at the star wars trilogy forums.

The torrents are up at myspleen, and the links are up at the star wars trilogy forums.

Enjoy!

Thank you so much!

I’m going to have to update the ROTJ torrent at myspleen. It shouldn’t anything that’s already downloaded.

I wanted to thank @MalàStrana and @bttfbrasilfan for their help with the French subtitles and 5.1 audio, the Dutch subtitles, and Brazilian Portuguese audio and subtitles.

Don’t mention it 😃, you’re the one doing this incredible preservation work. I’m just glad I could help the best I could 😉

I’ll be excited to check out your updated AOTC. I’m also interested into seeing if your version of TPM would make a better source. I’d be happy with the blu-ray if it didn’t have that awful DNR.

Ok, I found a small error with my upload of ROTS and am in the process of updating the Torrent at myspleen. I had inadvertently switched the Latin Spanish and Quebecois French audio. The Resilio folder should update automatically as well.
