This is literally the only thing I took away from that Kathleen Kennedy interview from two years ago. Anyone hoping for a ‘final cut’ type deal are pretty much out of luck.

They will probably give the option of 4K and 1080p cause not everyone has a 4K player yet

If they care enough to appease a few dozen bootleggers on the internet with the OOT 4K version I’ll be very surprised.

Not buying something you don’t want is realistic. To be able to boycott a release because it’s only the SE despite the SE having been the only version available for years anyways despite fan complaints is not.

who cares disney will never do we have both cleaned and beat 35mm and 16mm film prints already available the colors will not be accurate jedi for example is very blue on endore and in the death star anyone really think a hd version of jedi will be acurite as a 35mm print i dought it

We must strive for Disney to recognise, restore and release the OUT as we have the power. Yes we have great projects but until the OUT is officially released our work will never be done.

I disagree. I think even if an official release occurs, the restorations are going to continue.

Well I’m just saying that we haven’t tried that option yet. I’m not adamant, I’m just suggesting a different option. Take it or leave it.

All that would need to happen is for a few of our LA members to meet up in disguise outside of LF with some posters saying release the OUT and a loudspeaker. We haven’t tried this yet so it’s worth a shot.

That’s really sad if we end up with a previous SE cut again. They really should make a new, final SE that will fit better with the newer movies and doesn’t contain as many outdated vfx, especially the bad CGI from the 1997 SE scenes. And thankfully while there is the Revisited trilogy, it’s sadly only going at 720p.

I also really want a proper 4K restoration of the OUT, as the sources Lucasfilm has are so much better than the prints we have access to.

But looking at the Karate Kid 35th anniversary 4K release, I continue to be thoroughly impressed at the ability for older films to shine in this new format.
