Looks like the VCR half of my eleven-year-old DVD-VCR combo finally gave up the ghost today.

After several months of inactivity, I decided to fire it up. Roughly halfway through a badly degraded copy of Wild at Heart, the picture went snowy; subsequent attempts to clean the VCR’s innards availed me naught.

Now I have more incentive than ever to replace my remaining videotapes.

I want to watch a Bond movie. I’m taking suggestions; which one should I watch? (I’m up for anything but Spectre.)

From Russia With Love if you want to watch a great movie.

Goldfinger or Thunderball if you want something a little lighter and more fun.

License to Kill if you are in the mood for a parody.

How is License to Kill a parody? The first one to feel like a parody to me was Diamonds are Forever.

Goldfinger.

I don’t see how the tanker truck chase is any more ludicrous than Pussy Galore’s Flying Circus.

License is possibly my favorite.

JEDIT: I was thinking of Daylights. Sorry.

Big distinction lol. Daylights is a very enjoyable movie.

Re: License, maybe I’m less forgiving of the cheese because the rest of the movie is so bad and uninspired.

Haven’t watched the Moore films as recently, but they’re too over the top too.

For Your Eyes Only is the major exception.

I love every single Bond movie except for Quantum of Solace and Spectre. I gained new appreciation for Quantum after seeing Spectre, though. That movie was a trainwreck. The first hour or so wasn’t bad, but it easily has the worst script of any film in the franchise. Bond and Blofeld being brothers is like the stuff of parody.

And Austin Powers did it 13 years earlier to boot.
