At least you saw a good one.

My first was TESB. Beat that, compadres.

Do you know what site you’re on?
Do you?
Do I?
Does neglify?
All I meant is there are a great deal of people here who saw the original film in 1977, so I thought the “Beat that!” comment was pretty funny.
Too young to have seen the original theatrical run, but even the theater where I saw the 1997 SE release as a teen is now gone.
Behold the magnificence of the Redwood City Century Park 12:

I bet the line “look how funky he is” is used to describe handman all the time

In a positive way of course
For the Original Trilogy, no. Sadly, every theater I ever saw any of them in (including the Special Editions 21 years ago) were either turned into medical schools, torn down, or just left abandoned.
One thing I like about the Star Wars saga are the planets, especially the ones wet with rain, hahaha! Kamino, Eadu, and Ach-To - all three of them have enormous amounts of rain, it seems. 😃
Heck, I’ve never seen any Star Wars film in theaters.
In my opening post on this thread I have a picture of the Odeon Guildford UK where I saw all the original Trilogy.
Here now is a picture of the cinema actually showing Return Of The Jedi.
I remember standing looking at those posters. Excellent.
The circle is now complete? 😃
Where were you in '77?
It certainly is. I am over the moon with this picture.
The theatre I saw a few Star Wars films at is apparently getting redone. Not surprising. Hasn’t seem that busy there the last few years. Even when I saw Last Jedi the theatre was only 50-60% full.
I’m amazed sometimes that the oldest multiplex in my area is still operating, and pretty much looks like it did when it opened in 1984. (Was also the last place still running 35mm at late as 2012.) I’ve only seen ROTS there though.

You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.
Episode 9 Rewrite, The Starlight Project (Released!) and ANH Technicolor Project (Released!)
This is the IMAX dome I’ve seen TFA, TLJ, and Rogue One in. I hope Episode IX will also have 70mm prints made.

How was it, watching the movies on an IMAX dome?
Never thought this thread would be relevant to me, but I’m reminded that the theater I saw AOTC in was shut down a couple years back. Think it’s still standing though.
The theater I saw TPM in closed down for a few years, almost became a supermarket, got bought and renovated by another chain, and I eventually saw TFA there.

Immersive, better than 3-D even. Yeah, there’s some distortion projecting a scope film onto a dome, and the sides end up in your peripheral vision. But it feels like you’re in the movie, and possibly the best sound I’ve heard in any modern theater. You haven’t seen the opening crawl until you’ve seen it going over your head!
And the sound of a film projector whirring in the dark gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. 😃

Odeon Leicester Square
Interesting how prominent Tie Bombers are in that poster, since they are barely in the movie.
