Nothing’s being stolen, and Doctor Who works canonically. The gender swaps actually aren’t to make women more equal to men, they’re almost all just attempts to make money on an existing property rather than come up with a new idea. The easy solution is just to not watch lazy remakes. That’s what I do.

I’m not trying to be sexist, but to be fair I honestly never liked gender-swaps. I get it, it’s supposed to make women more equal to men, which is a great thing, but they’re surpassing equal by stealing from men. Honestly, it’s better to make original female characters, y’know? What if they made Wonder Woman Wonder Man or made Ripley from Alien a man? It wouldn’t really work.

They’ve feminized Doctor Who and Ghostbusters already, and now I’ve heard that Dorian Gray’s getting a feminist remake, and on top of that, I heard of this new movie that recently came out called Ladies in Black

actually ,there is a Wonder Man , he has been around since the 60’s…https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wonder_Man

I get that Dr. Who now can say regeneration sometimes changes gender, but I’m pretty sure that was from a request. And yes, the problem with remakes are that sometimes they are lazy, and I meant stolen as in to take a male idea (that isn’t original) and slap their female stamp on it. I didn’t mean literally steal. And if it’s just a lazy cash grab and not equalizing women then that means the gender swapped remakes are completely pointless.

When’s something gonna happen?

Absolutely. I don’t even get mad at the remakes. I used to, especially regarding Star Wars prequels and the like, but there’s just no need. Just don’t go see them and then everyone will forget about them in three months and there’ll be something new to hate.

Y’know, I used to play Sims 3 a lot, now I’ve stopped. Why? Because I do not like it anymore. Not only does it charge you money (or “SimPoints”) for nearly every goddamn thing in the game, so if you don’t you’re stuck with a limited number of clothes and hairstyles, but also there are way too many expansion packs and stuff packs! I feel The Sims has gone downhill ever since Will Wright quit, and has got greedier and greedier, just like the rest of EA. No wonder everyone hates Origin. BTW You can only get TS4 on Origin, not Steam. Also the Katy Perry stuff are COMPLETELY POINTLESS. That’s like if they released a Michael Jackson expansion for FIFA or a Beatles expansion for Call of Duty!

When’s something gonna happen?

They must’ve thought there was an overlap in Sims and Katy Perry fans.

Anybody get really ticked off with bad YouTube tutorials?
I either get somebody with a foreign accent that mumbles more than Jar Jar Binks after he gets his tongue Zapped by the podracer.

Or I end up with a video that keeps buffering and the person in the video is taking forever to get to the point. Reminds me of Harvey Korman in the holiday special telling Lumpy how to put his transmitter together.

Or Worse some idiot writing in Notepad. If I wanted to read I wouldn’t go on YouTube.
That one is so dumb I can’t think of a Star Wars comparison.

I love making fun of all these thin-skinned little bitches that are so sensitive that they can’t even handle a fucking Gillette commercial.

So I was gonna watch Harry Potter, but then realized I had to get early tomorrow, so I shouldn’t go to bed so late. Now I realize I made a mistake and I actually could have easily watched the film without any worries about getting enough sleep, but now it’s too late. Groan

If you’re mad the new Ghostbusters or Doctor Who star women, there’s something wrong with you. It’s okay to be mad about other aspects of those things, but complaining about gender swaps is not only sexist but above all else really petty. I don’t see reason to believe Alien wouldn’t work with a male Ripley, but then again, I haven’t actually seen it, so I can’t really say.

I’m only cynical about race/gender swapping when I believe tokenism and/or unsubtle, hamfisted writing/direction’s in play.

Except when there are now talks of a sequel to the OG Ghostbusters films, which ignores the 2016 film, and one of the actresses in GB2016 vents on Twitter and turns it into an issue of sexism. …and then the media picks it up and writes articles about it which dumps it in my news feed.

They’ve done this before. When a remake tanks, they remake it again immediately. They did it with Hulk, Spiderman, and Wolverine to name a few. They also did another Frankenstein redo almost immediately. Whenever a big name thing flops, they immediately start over, regardless of who’s in it.

They didn’t remake Wolverine, though. They made a sequel that ignored the first one as much as possible.

So it’s a soft reboot?

Not really. The first Wolverine was a prequel to the first X-Men movie. The second was a sequel to the third X-Men movie. The third was more or less a standalone that likely takes place either in a future after DOFP reset the timeline, or another timeline altogether, but it makes passing references to the second Wolverine IIRC.

Basically, each Wolverine movie is its own thing, but all are spinoffs of the X-Men movies. There’s little if anything tying the Wolverine movies together as its own independent series.

But I guess you could consider the second to be a soft reboot, maybe.

I just set my phone to allow calls only from people in my contacts. I hate these increasing telemarketer calls.

I hate getting phone calls from unknown numbers. That’s pretty much all I get in terms of calls though.
