There was a movie I remember watching part of with my mom when I was very young. All I remember was that it had something to do with oil fields in Texas (at least I assume Texas). I left when she told me it was over three hours long, and the small me had not the patience for it.

Giant perhaps?

Back in 2005/2006, I remember catching parts of an old serial on TV. It was from the '30s/'40s, and it involved some mad scientist/lost civilization operating out of an African jungle, using science to turn ordinary tribal villagers into these hulking, simple-minded brutes. I recall that the brutes were all played by the same black actor, and at least one of the chapters featured a group of old black men who had been transformed into old white men.

Found it. It’s The Lost City.

There’s this sci-fi horror film, I forgot everything other than the ending, I recall that there was a NASA control centre there were three something astronauts in panic falling from orbit, then in the next shot, there was this close up of a headcrab zombie looking thing from Half-life, Than it rising its head or something.

“Get over violence, madness and death? What else is there?”

Also known as Mr. Liquid Jungle.

The following’s a movie I remember having watched when I was about six years old.

It was some '70s exploitation flick about a long-haired, bearded trucker who had a ladyfriend with short dark hair. The movie ended with the guy crossing an unsafe bridge in his rig, whereupon his truck blew up or blew out or the bridge collapsed or something like that and he was killed. His ladyfriend survived, as she hadn’t been in the truck with him. I recall the last shot of her showing her with some other guys, smiling/laughing, which I found strange, 'cause I thought she’d liked the trucker.

I believe I figured out which movie this is. Convoy.

Anyone know which movie this gif’s from?

Let’s see if someone can help me find this movie after years of trying to find it again!

There’s this film that came out in the late 80’s or very early 90’s about two brothers and a girl they both like. It’s set in Miami as the oldest brother was a Heat fan and the little brother has a very severe fear of the water because their father had a drowning accident. I remember he worked as a lifeguard and I’d like to say had a Walkman he listened to but I can’t be certain about that detail. I remember though they both liked the same I believe blonde hair girl and they had a fight over it.

That’s about all I can give as it’s been a few years since I’ve seen it on one of the film channels but I remember really enjoying it.

“Heroes come in all sizes, and you don’t have to be a giant hero. You can be a very small hero. It’s just as important to understand that accepting self-responsibility for the things you do, having good manners, caring about other people - these are heroic acts. Everybody has the choice of being a hero or not being a hero every day of their lives.” - George Lucas

This is a film I had seen a clip of on youtube.

A man, blonde haired woman, and a child are stranded or lost on a rural country highway. This scene takes place during daylight. That’s all I got. It was definitely a horror film and might have had something to do with satanists/devil worshipers. This film was released either in the late 60s or early 70s.

Oh and it was also an American film in color.

Sounds a lot like Manos: The Hands of Fate. It’s one of those famous “so bad it’s good” movies, which is probably why you saw a clip of it on YouTube.

My preferred Skywalker Saga experience:

I remember when I was rather young, I saw a small fragment of some movie my older siblings were watching. Bear in mind that, as I describe it, some of it is only what I remember my brother telling me about it. It may be misremembered, I may be conflating things, he may have been teasing an impressionable little kid, but I will relay to you what I seem to recall him telling me, as well as the brief scene I actually witnessed.

Possible background:

My brother told me that this movie takes place on a planet that orbits several (seven? ten? can’t remember) stars, and as a result, they only experience night every few centuries. Knowing that another night is pending, the people become frightened, for none of them has ever lived through night. In order to avoid this upcoming horror, a woman elects to go through some ritual where…

I remember seeing this:

…a mask is placed over her face, leaving only her eyes exposed. She is laid upon a bed, next to where two birds are perched. With a man apparently leading the ritual and a crowd looking on, the birds begin to peck her eyes out! She moans and cries, but eventually, the dreadful deed is done, her mask removed by the assistants, and she is seated up, eyelids open, empty sockets exposed.

Imagine how this frightened a young boy. The movie seemed to have generally earthly technology and clothing, even possibly ancient in appearance, and the people looked very human, making me doubt my remembered background. It looks like it was probably filmed in the 70s or maybe 80s, but I can’t say that with certainty either. Any ideas? Or is the whole thing a concocted memory?

I finally figured out what movie this is: Nightfall, a low budget adaptation of an Isaac Asimov story. My memories were not flawless, but I am surprised how much I got right.
