What has Favreau ever done to you, Mala?

Iron Man 2 😕

It’s pretty well known that Iron Man 2 was lackluster due to studio interference, and it’s also rumoured that the troubled production of Iron Man 2 and creative differences were the reason Favreau chose not to direct Iron Man 3.

Well if Greig Fraser is going to be the cinematographer, I wouldn’t doubt this series will look as good as a Star Wars movie. The last thing I want is a low-budget look.

And I like the idea of this being set around a lone character, I really like the idea of smaller scope stories in the Star Wars universe and not having everything overlap so much.

Very excited for the Taika Waititi directed episode.

It’s a pretty exciting batch:

Taika, Filoni, and the series’s first two female directors (with Bryce keeping things in the Howard family).

Not to mention, if the word about Fraser is true, this is shaping to be a pretty cool show indeed.

Who’s Fraser?

I’m also looking forward to BDH flexing her directorial muscles.

Is that costume real or CGI?

If they’ve started shooting already, it’s amazing they kept a lid on it this long.

There were leaked set photos a while back of whatever planet that’s on. Pretty sure it’s real.

Looks pretty real to me. And I believe that production has only just begun, but even still there were apparently some leaked set photos recently, which will probably be a common issue for them because they’re shooting in California.

I’m personally somewhat surprised they didn’t say anything about the cast or at least even just who the lead is. Considering they’re shooting now, you’d think contracts or whatever would be a done deal and it’s only a matter of time before word gets out (well, maybe it already is, I’ve heard Pedro Pascal’s name thrown about).

So it still won’t explain anything about the New Republic. Cool. I’m not mad. Why would you think that?

You know I’ve been thinking about this, I think it’ll actually be pretty cool to get a piece of Star Wars media that, according to them, has nothing to do with Empire, Rebels, Resistance, Republic, etc. etc.

I don’t think this will have much in common with the spaghetti westerns beyond the “lone gunman” angle, but I’m willing to see where this goes. Looks promising.

Unless they’re shooting somewhere outside of Los Angeles or Hollywood, a Star Wars set is going to be hard to keep a secret.

Totally agree.

You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.

“Streaming series.” So do I assume that this will be neither on cable nor a mainstream streaming service and that I will instead have to subscribe to a whole new streaming service if I want to watch this?

What do you guys think the odds are of a home video release of the series? Would this be something that the fans would have to produce themselves as far as packaging?

JEDIT: Also I’m excited for a fan edit of the series to a movie or two! That would be cool. For no other reasons than I think so…

After being beaten and battered by prequel hate, I promise not to be that to the next generation.

Yes, it’s one of the many exclusive titles Disney is currently working on for its own streaming service.

I’m pretty sure they will release it physically. Netflix has also released its hit series, like Stranger Things, and also the new Star Trek series.

And in the time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as the Son of the Suns.

Optimism now eclipsed by capitalist greed.

Thank you for reminding me why I want you to die, Disney.

What was James Mangold going to direct though?

Author

Mangold was supposedly set to direct a theatrical spin-off film about Boba Fett akin to Solo, though that was never officially confirmed by Lucasfilm. If that was the case, it now looks like that’s been put on the backburner as they’ve decided to slowdown after the performance of Solo at the box office.
