We never got the Maz Leia scene from TFA, did we? They’ll probably pull footage/dialogue from that.
I am glad to see Mark Hamill return and am guessing he will be a force ghost after all . Perhaps he will finish Rey’s training from beyond .

The playing up of the “end of the Skywalker Saga” is putting a ton of pressure on this film to wrap up an 8 film juggernaut. It also pretty much confirms that Kylo gonna die.
Lando should have been in this trilogy from the start.
Nah
Well that doesn’t sound very inclusive.

I really don’t get why people are saying that. Before Disney, people would’ve said the Skywalker Saga ended with RotJ, and Luke didn’t die in that. It’s not the end of the Skywalker lineage; it’s the end of a saga that just so happens to be in large part about the Skywalkers.

Before Disney, I think people more than likely would have said the story of Anakin Skywalker ended. After the prequels, the 6 films had a purpose and were tied up nicely. Before the prequels, the 3 films had a purpose (destroy the Empire) and were tied up nicely. By making this the conclusion of the “Skywalker Saga” , what is the main arc they are trying to wrap up? That the Skywalkers suck and the galaxy should be rid of them? Luke’s dead. Leia likely will die. That leaves Ben. If he is redeemed, then it is just Anakin’s story all over again without the 30 years of being the 2nd baddest dude in the galaxy and the 20 some years before that of being a Jedi warrior.
That doesn’t mean to criticize a film they haven’t even filmed yet. I just don’t see a) what there is to wrap up of the entire saga vs just wrapping up this trilogy and b) that there is no way they don’t continue this story in a decade with these characters/cast.
So, to me, the only way this “concludes the Skywalker Saga” is if the Skywalker bloodline ends with this film.
When Doctor Who ended in 1989, they didn’t kill off the Doctor.
With the use of TFA Leia footage in Ep 9, does anyone else suspect this means Ep 9 will pick up right where TLJ left off (like TLJ did with TFA)?
Definityely not. I don’t see how that suggests it would. Han reverted to his ANH outfit in RotJ. Besides, they need a time skip to allow for tie-in material and the rebuilding of the Resistance.

Wut?
This isn’t called Skywalker Wars.

Maybe. There’s also another deleted scene that was on the home release. The Oliver Reed in Gladiator treatment would be fine, depending on what they have to work with.

I saw on Twitter that there was also a scene filmed of Leia at the Republic asking for ressources.
What’s the internal temperature of a TaunTaun? Luke warm.

Are you sure it’s not the included deleted scene where she sends Kor Sella to the Senate? Or maybe a scene of Kor Sella at the Senate, and not Leia?
You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.
Episode 9 Rewrite, The Starlight Project (Released!) and ANH Technicolor Project (Released!)

I would put this in my sig if I weren’t so lazy.

Considering Kor Sella (and the Republic Senate) dies in TFA, I wouldn’t think any of that would work for IX.

I’m just wondering why, from what we know of the deleted scenes, Leia would have gone to the Senate.

Well I imagine they can replace the character she’s speaking to, swap around the context. Hey presto Leia is talking about her allies in the Outer Rim instead.
Billy Dee Williams shoulda been back since The Force Awakens. Rose Tico is a boring character. Richard E. Grant is awesome. Wonder how much shenanigans there’s gonna be with Force Ghost Mark Hamill.
I imagine they will over-compensate with all of the fan criticisms from the last film and JJ will try to make everyone happy this time around. I can’t see him taking a lot of risks. So, expect to see Luke be a super-jedi, Lando have an important role and Hux not be a comedy device this time.

Unpopular onpinion: Lando is just a Han clone and offers nothing to the story.
Lando is a really fun and cool character in Solo and Empire, but once he turns good he’s boring. In ROTJ, they didn’t know what to do with him. They had too many characters, put Han in the falcon or Lando on the ground and the story would of been exactly the same (except for “I love you”).
I was perfectly fine with them abandoning Lando in the sequels. His story is finished, and it’s not like his son is evil like Han. Him not appearing raises the stakes in the EU, when Lando almost died in the Battlefront II campaign I legit thought he might. But now we know he survives until that strange week 30 years later, when the entire galaxy is flipped upside down.
This post invokes EU and video game plot lines, but the thread is about a movie, so I’m confused.
