I didn’t know it was legal to still be born after phantom menace came out.

Well, I was born a few months after it came out. Are we the children of Satan, then?

If I were religious, I’d be a Satanist.

Since most strains of Satanism are non-theistic, you still can be.

I do love the imagery and symbolism behind it. I’ve got a little black magic shelf in my home with weird Satanic trinkets and souvenirs displayed.

Yep. TPM was like a Children of Men type event. No one was supposed to be born after.

2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)

Caught the second to last showing before the 70mm run was over. So glad I got the chance. Spectacular.

I wish my theatre showed older films…

“Get over violence, madness and death? What else is there?”

Did you have to buy tickets in advance? Or were they pretty available?

I showed up about an hour early and grabbed my ticket at the box office.

Lol I guess I assume enough other people in a major American city give a rats ass about one of the greatest movies of all time being presented in its original large-format celluloid format to sell out 21 showings over the course of a week.

If you live in the Hollywood area, this might be a legitimate concern. Otherwise, you’re probably good.

It was a pretty good turn out for 3pm in the afternoon on a Thursday.

I saw Jurassic Park 3D. Jurassic Park is older than I am. Because I’d waited a month, there were only around two other groups of people in the entire theater.

Have seen lots of silent films in the theater. A couple of times with live organist.

I’ve seen Safety Last! in an authentic movie house of the era, with the organist. It was by far the best movie-going experience I’ve ever had.

Well I had been a little disappointed that I ultimately missed the restored 2001 in 70mm this year (only a little because I saw it in the format last fall), but turns out I got another chance.

Tickets purchased to see 2001: A Space Odyssey in 70mm IMAX later this month!
