Of course you don’t.
I would say the more agreeable statement is that liking ROTS is normal.

This is objectively correct. Take a look at Rotten Tomatoes, Imdb, Cinemascore, etc.
Indeed, ROTS sits currently at 7.6 on IMDB, which bests The Last Jedi (7.3) and Solo (7.1), and just below Rogue One (7.8).

It’s a 50s diner.
True be told, the diner never bothered me. I dislike the droid waitress, but the rest I can live with. And Dex himself is a likable character, shitty CG nature notwithstanding.
I keep forgetting that droid waitress was in a SW movie. Like, it seems like something out of this.

i love that scene. people tend to use it as an example for “hey look how bad and non star warsy aotc feels” and i use it as an example for “hey look how awesome AotC can be”. ok maybe not that much but still.

It’s the epitome of everything sequels get wrong. A bunch of random junk on screen just because they can render it, just so they can have a slew of boring expository dialogue with two characters sat on a couch. Millions of dollars burning on screen.

How about Ewan McGregors terrible reshoot beard?
Oh, and the wig.
Rogue One is redundant. Just play the first mission of DARK FORCES.

What bothers me most about the Coruscant diner scenes in AOTC is that they’re completely superficial and unnecessary, and only serve to pad out the movie’s runtime. When Zam Wessel dies, subtitle her alien language so she says something about Kamino; now you can cut out Detective Obi-Wan screwing around, cutting out about 20 minutes.
A lot of AOTC is like that, just runtime-padding nonsense. Along with the aforementioned cuts, you can trim much of the Naboo scenes, shaving off about 30 minutes or so, cut out most of the battle of Geonosis, saving 10. Boom, you’ve just cut down a 2 and a half hour movie down to one that’s only an hour and a half long. And you can trim it even further than that, with the overarching story remaining coherent and reasonable.
i LOVE detective obi-wan in AotC. the best part of the movie imo, so i’d never cut that scene. it’s the only change i made to hal’s TAS, i added that scene back.
I just think it’s lazy writing that Obi-Wan happens to be friends with the one guy who knows how to solve the mystery.
Also I can’t believe that Obi-Wan is friends with this… thing:
the best part of the movie imo

Oh, and the wig.
It’s not even noticeable. General Dodonna’s the only one in SW with a distractingly fake beard.

Well that’s probably the most glaring factor. Speaking as someone who never “hated” the scene, I think a big issue is how little the setting is Star Warsified. But I must say I do like the idea of it. Those films could’ve used more lighthearted scenes of that nature with the heroes, and in regards to the “diner” of it all, in general I think AOTC is really the only prequel to actual make good use of the “city planet” concept. So basically, good scene on paper.
