Info Wanted: Jurassic Park - 35mm Restoration Project? Where is it? :(

I’ve spent many months trying to find an “END ALL” remaster of Jurassic Park like Harmy is doing for the original Star Wars trilogy, but I cannot seem to find it. Does anyone know if such a project exist, and if it does, could someone point me in the right direction?

It’s a damn shame that something this important in filmmaking hasn’t had a “proper treatment” by 2017 … wow … 😦

There is a 35mm film print scan available online. I wouldn’t call it an “end all” release, but it probably looks the best of anything you could watch. If the guys who scanned it ever get the time and/or money to make a finished release, that would be great, but to my knowledge that hasn’t happened yet.

And a 35mm copy isn’t the same as Harmy’s Star Wars releases. He uses 35mm sources, but they are Blu-ray based.

Army of Darkness: The Medieval Deadit | The Terminator - Color Regrade | The Wrong Trousers - Audio Preservation
SONIC RACES THROUGH THE GREEN FIELDS.
THE SUN RACES THROUGH A BLUE SKY FILLED WITH WHITE CLOUDS.
THE WAYS OF HIS HEART ARE MUCH LIKE THE SUN. SONIC RUNS AND RESTS; THE SUN RISES AND SETS.
DON’T GIVE UP ON THE SUN. DON’T MAKE THE SUN LAUGH AT YOU.

Do you know where I can find this 35mm film print for Jurassic Park?

Some of the project is still available, and will be released by other
members at some point in time.

What would you say the chances are of having this completely gone through and uploaded? Downloading the current one that’s roughly 21GB large. I’m interested in seeing it!

“Audio track #1 (default) is Cinema DTS ripped from CDs that were playing in theatres 22 years ago. This is the recommended track to watch this release with.”

This definitely caught my attention, wowzers!

No idea. People are working on it at their own pace. There really isn’t any one place to keep track of it.

Haven’t been able to find this anywhere, and the one torrent I found is dead. 😕

My only problem with the 35mm scan is the washed out colours. I remember a guy posting screengrabs from a scan he made which had much richer colours. Sadly he hasn’t posted in nearly two years.

Have you seen the V2 of the scan? It has less washed out colors, though I still prefer the V1 because of the other contrast and framing adjustments they made to V2.

Hi I’ve been trying to find some information on the release: Jurassic.Park.1993.35mm.1080p.Cinema.DTS.v2.0. Is this available anywhere and what was changed from v1.0?
Thanks

The changes with V2 according to the info posted by the team:

Continuing our tradition of flooding the world with Jurassic Parks, here’s yet another version, this time matted for 16:9 screens. It’s intended to be an upgrade over our very first release (Jurassic Park 1.0), which had the same aspect ratio.

This version has not been completely cleaned up, but the worst scratches, frame jumps and cue marks were removed. The color is not faded and is completely intact, and no, saturation does not need to be increased. Aspect ratio of this release is variable - special effects shots are hard matted on the print (meaning that no extra image can be shown). The encode is blu-ray compliant, you can use tsMuxer to make BD iso from this, no re-encoding should be required.

I would really like to get both the Open-Matte V1.0 as well as the V2.0 if possible.
I have the Superwide 1.0 version of this, but no access to any private trackers to download those 2 versions (unfortunately).
I would really like to get those for collector’s purposes.
Can anyone upload them to some Filehost that doesn’t require a Premium Account to get them, please?
Thank you.
I can share the Superwide 1.0 version of this, as well The Matrix 35mm, if you guys are interested.

Dang. The one person I’ve seen willing to share what they have of this project, and they’re looking for the same version I am! Lol. Do you have some screenshots of the Superwide 1.0 so I can compare it to BluRay?

I’m trying to figure out what is the latest, “best” version of Jurassic Park (1993). As in, highest scan possible of either the OCN or a theatrical 35mm print, in the original color grading/timing and full (open matte) framing (I don’t mind seeing the boom mics entering the frame sometimes). There’s several threads going on about this subject.

Original Jurassic Park Trilogy 35mm Preservation Project
Team Negative1 - Unofficial Jurassic Park 35mm
Info Wanted: Jurassic Park - 35mm Restoration Project?
JURASSIC PARK 35mm 4K scan
Info: Jurassic Park - Bootleg / Workprint / Extended Cut on video

I don’t have access to any private trackers or usenet newsgroup. Hopefuly someone can inform me on how to obtain/help/fund any of the projects.
