The Stanford Prison Experiment (2015)
Saw it on Netflix after hearing good things about it years ago. It was incredibly unnerving. Ezra Miller was the standout performance, but everyone was great! I’d recommend it!

The last 20 minutes of The Bodyguard.
Lol
I would put this in my sig if I weren’t so lazy.
Is Deadpool killing Mace windu yet?
JEDIT, Wrong film.
“Get over violence, madness and death? What else is there?”
Also known as Mr. Liquid Jungle.

Donnie Darko (2001)
It was pretty straightforward up until a certain point. I still don’t get it. The parts that were good were really good, however some of the child acting/writing was bad.
7/10
That’s what happens when you let children write your movie.
I feel a little weird about this one. I liked a few things in it, but most of it I either disliked or didn’t quite understand. I thought making the betrayal a planned event by Jesus was really interesting. But, the actual temptations Jesus endures seemed really vague and were difficult to figure out. None of it seemed like he was actually being tempted, but rather tricked into doing things, or stuff was just happening. Then of it isn’t really theologically accurate, which is something it doesn’t claim to be. Ultimately, I was expecting a much more powerful film after the likes of Siskel and Ebert hailed it a masterpiece. I just didn’t feel empowered or anything really. I didn’t feel a personal connection to Christ’s character in the film. I may revisit it in the future, but most likely won’t.
It kicked ass while chewing bubblegum, despite being out of bubblegum. That’s a pretty impressive feet if you ask me.
Also I was caught off guard by the few seconds of nudity at the end, and my mom asked if I knew it was there already.
After responding “no” she said she’d let me off the hook then. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

SONIC RACES THROUGH THE GREEN FIELDS.
THE SUN RACES THROUGH A BLUE SKY FILLED WITH WHITE CLOUDS.
THE WAYS OF HIS HEART ARE MUCH LIKE THE SUN. SONIC RUNS AND RESTS; THE SUN RISES AND SETS.
DON’T GIVE UP ON THE SUN. DON’T MAKE THE SUN LAUGH AT YOU.
The movie features a man going on a shooting spree in a bank, and it’s the boobies that draw trepidation.
LOL
Violence and language in general sparsity (outside of taking the Lord’s name in vain) doesn’t bother my mom very much, but sexual material/nudity is a bit steeper.

It’s weird to be cool with violence and be bothered by nudity…in general. Context matters, see my complaints about Blade Runner 2049. In a vacuum I think violence is much more problematic, but nothing exists in a vacuum other than dirt and a bunch of dog fur.

Violence doesn’t cause sexual temptation (usually), which nudity might. That’s the bigger issue for Christian viewers. Though I don’t see boobs and immediately have sexual desire and start doing my taxes.

In a vacuum
In a vacuum
Why would that happen? They’re supposed to get embedded in your heel first.

Christians should be able to control themselves but what do I know.
How about this: More violence, more nudity, more sex, more taking the goddamned Lord’s goddamned name in vain!
EDIT: In all seriousness, I don’t want more violence and nudity, but in scenes where violence happens I want it to be depicted in a realistic and graphic way. (No more bloodless bullet wounds.) And also when a character is supposed to be naked, no more shooting in ways that hide the nudity to the point that it’s a million times more distracting than if he were on full display.

I will say that it has happened though.

It’s all totally natural.

Where were you in '77?
A lot of movies do stuff like that unironically.

I agree. What’s wrong with framing it so that the nudity is out of frame, rather than ridiculously obscuring the dong in frame? Shot’s from behind or any other way they can just show the important information never distracts me.

Footloose (1984) - A lot more silly than it seems to realize, unfortunately. C
Futureworld (1976) - A really smart way to do a follow up, executed pretty poorly. C
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009) - A little too ADHD crazy at times, but mostly pretty enjoyable. B-
The Karate Kid Part III (1989) - Absolutely ridiculous. At least it’s funny to watch. C-
The Lego Ninjago Movie (2017) - Easily the least of the three Lego films thus far, but that’s not saying much. Lot of fun. B-
The Great Muppet Caper (1981) - Not sure why I’ve never explored the other Muppet films. Really liked this one, though not crazy about musical numbers in general. Maybe that’s why. B
Angels & Demons (2009) - Like DaVinci Code the book, not the movie. Had to check this one to make sure it wasn’t a fluke (come on, Ron Howard and Tom Hanks?). That was a mistake. C-
Rampage (2018) - Pretty much all you could hope for from this movie. The Rock is very solid. B-
Thief (1981) - A film I wish I had already seen, and will have to come back to often to make up for how long it took me. A true classic. A
Streets of Fire - An almost great movie that struggles with characters who aren’t quite what they want them to be (and music that could’ve been integrated a bit better). B+
Deadpool 2 (2018) - What’s there to say? Whole lotta fun. Some story issues, but that doesn’t hurt the experience too much. B
The Great Train Robbery (1978) - I’m surprised people don’t talk about this movie all that much. A killer heist flick from start to finish, with one of the most enjoyable Connery performances I’ve seen. B+
Splash (1984) - A cute, if imperfect, rom com romp. Despite how weird the central relationship is, you buy it. B
Rules Don’t Apply (2016) - An eccentric tale with eccentric characters and an eccentric style to match. Pretty great for the first third, then starts to fall apart a bit. Come for the cast… uh, stay for the cast too I guess. B
Milk (2008)
I may be slightly biased, but this is a truly great film. Sean Penn definitely earned that Oscar.

Deadpool 2
Thumbs up! This was the perfect sequel to the first in my opinion. Developed the characters more while introducing us to some new and interesting ones. The story is grander and overall the movie is just more fun. I’d honestly say that I loved it. (I barely liked the first one.)
