I’ve always been quite partial to Star Wars: Bounty Hunter on the PS2. It’s not perfect but there aren’t really any other Star Wars games like it and the concept is very cool.

Other than that Rogue Squadron 3 for the GC and Shadows of the Empire on the N64 are absolutely killer.

Oh man, I forgot about Bounty Hunter. Yes, that game was awesome! Possibly the best thing to come out of the prequels, actually. Had a very OT feel.

It’s a shame we don’t get awesome single player games with great stories like that, Dark Forces, Jedi Knight, and even X Wing: Alliance very often anymore…

Wasn’t the Atari VCS game just an endless series of walkers though?

the 2600 game was endless walkers ,yes , though there were different levels of difficulty and sometimes you had to avoid the heat seeking missle or smart bomb they threw at you . It was my first Star Wars game though , so I am a little biased .

I just don’t remember it being that complicated. I guess I was more of a Galaxian fan.

Pretty cool. I still own all non-PT Xbox games and I’ve been eyeing an Xbox One… When the 4K version gets cheaper this seems like a good buy.

That game was surprisingly enjoyable for being a prequel game.

I’m not sure why that’s relevant. You can make a good game from a terrible movie, and vice versa.

I’m sure it’s pure nostalgia, but I have the fondest memories of the old green vector graphics arcade game.

Its still a very fun game. Yes its a bit cheesy with the synth voices but the gameplay is still top notch. Too bad the cabinets are rare and expensive. If I were ever to buy one- it would be that.

It seems like people are really embracing the new characters. In fact, the big question people ask me now about Star Wars is, “Are Finn and Poe gay lovers?” And really how the f*ck would I know? My second husband left me for a man, so my gaydar isn’t exactly what you’d call Death Star level quality. ----Carrie Fisher

I cast my vote for The Empire Strikes Back on the Atari 2600 .

I actually bought my father that this past Christmas as he grew up with the 2600 and didn’t have it in his collection.

I was born in the early 90s so I had more of an SNES, N64 upbringing, but I sat down to play the 2600 ESB with him and was blown away. A very good little game considering the time it was released in.

I really think Star Wars’ gaming peak was the late 90s through the mid 00’s. Battlefront, KOTOR, Rogue Squadron, Jedi Knight; there were a lot of groundbreaking titles in that little space of time.

Current Star Wars gaming on the other hand, absolutely abhorrent. The Force Unleashed 1 wasn’t too bad, but I struggle to think of a single game released after that that even comes close to the aforementioned time period, or even earlier.

EA’s Battlefront 1 and 2 might be decent if they were actually the first and second games released under that brand name, but as the third and fourth they’re inexcusably bland and generic.

Star Wars: Kinect is hilarious to drunkenly bring out at parties though, so I’ll give it that.

It’s not 100% relevant. I was making a relatively pointless negative comment about the prequels. Although, in my case, I have a much, much, much harder time enjoying a game set in the prequel era than in the OT era. I have never understood the appeal of the “Republic at War” mod for Empire at War, because I just don’t like the Republic and the CIS, but I am more inclined to enjoy a lot of OT-related stuff just because it features the Empire and the Rebellion. So the idea of a game based on the endless podracing scenes from TPM that is fun is surprising to me.

Also Republic Commando is suprisingly good when I played it 15 years ago. Even though I hate the clones and Geonosians and the like but it really was one of the best SW action games. I haven’t played it again…
