It’s better than its reputation. And it introduces General Ross, who returned in Civil War.

Here’s my ranking of the MCU films I’ve seen:

  • Captain America: The First Avenger – 8/10
  • Captain America: The Winter Soldier – 7.5/10
  • Iron Man – 7/10
  • The Avengers – 7/10
  • Avengers: Age of Ultron – 7/10
  • Iron Man 2 – 6/10
  • Doctor Strange – 6/10
  • Captain America: Civil War – 5/10
  • Spider-Man: Homecoming – 5/10
  • Guardians of the Galaxy – 5/10
  • Thor – 5/10
  • The Incredible Hulk – 4/10

I have the sneaking suspicion that were I to watch The Winter Soldier and Age of Ultron again, I’d knock them down to 7 & 6, respectively. I have no interest in revisiting them, though, so they’ll remain where they are.

Though it should go without saying, I’m not a fan of the MCU. Aside from Daredevil and The Punisher (and whatever future TV series’ may come along to pique my interest), I’m done with it.

What they say about looking directly at a solar eclipse? Goes for that poster, too.

Not sure if I said this already but I loved Ragnarok. Liked it a lot, more than Black Panther. For some reason it made me feel like a kid (lol) and I was rooting for the heroes all throughout, and I enjoyed the slapstick. Infinitely better than the 2 other Thor movies imo.

THANOS DEMANDS YOUR SILENCE

These next few days are going to be real tricky. The premiere was last night so undoubtedly the huge spoilers are now out there. Be careful!

Thankfully all that’s been spoiled for me so far is a post-credit scene, and I don’t care about those.

I just hope that at least somebody important dies. Not like in Civil War, where they didn’t have the courage to kill Captain America, or Iron Rhodey

I’ve decided to make a serious attempt to wake up early and go see it before work tomorrow morning.

Here’s hoping I can get some sleep…

Just got home from seeing it.

It was damn good. Way better than Age of Ultron.

I might see it tonight. If it’s not the best MCU flick by a country mile, I’ll be disappointed. I’ve been rereading Infinity Gauntlet today to prepare.

I haven’t seen it yet, but it seems like you’re setting yourself up to be disappointed.

not that it’s bad though - it simply isn’t the best. it’s amazingly good, but not the best

I really hope that…

INFINITY WAR SPOILERS

…they have the balls to actually keep the characters that died before the “SNAP” dead. I acknowledge that all the disintegrated characters due to the “SNAP” will be back, but everyone else should be gone for good.

The theater we saw this in was quite noisy. At one point three of us had to turn around in unison and ask the three people sitting behind us to shut their pie holes.

As for the movie itself, it was a long movie that seemed to fly by, keeping me engaged throughout. Few of the sad moments took me by surprise, but I was suprised by the sheer amount of humor in it, especially in the first half.

This isn’t the best Marvel movie since by its nature it’s overstuffed with heroes, but given these restraints I’m hard-pressed to think of how they could have achieved a better result.

Highly recommended.

You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.

Yeah the crowd at mine sucked too. Two phones went off. One was my own dad’s phone. Screaming infant spawn of some dipshits in the back. Someone dropped their souvenir popcorn bucket. Twice.

I also found myself not caring about the “overstuffed with heroes” because I was so happy Marvel was finally using them to reach such a grand scale and high stakes.
