Restoration - great.
Adding the buildings is in my opinion similar to Greedo shooting first. Why would the moisture vaporators be between houses? That defeats their whole purpose
Edit Update Thursday 14 July 2022
If you haven’t been reading the posts on here. I am no Longer adding the extra Stuff So a lot of you will be HAPPY
about that. I’m just keeping it to the original and only replacing Elements that Are too far Goone to repair
and replace with something I can create to match the Damaged element
These Work in Progress have not been finalized
Just another update for you guys. still need some work with stabilizing
Iv been working on this for quite sometime now, this is one of the deleted scenes from Star Wars IV A new hope… To clean up this footage I exported the Video in to images, took them in Lightroom, did what i could in there and then over to after effects using various Scratch and dust removal effects and a lot of Roto scoping, Theres still a lot to do, its not 100 percent clean yet but its what Iv done so far
Edit: I forgot to add that this will available for anyone to download once it’s finished, that’s if you want to make your own edits etc or whatever just give me credit that’s all 😃

I am equally impressed and bewildered. The cleanup is quite good, but you seem to have George Lucased it in the process.
Also…touché?
You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.
Episode 9 Rewrite, The Starlight Project (Released!) and ANH Technicolor Project (Released!)
I am equally impressed and bewildered.

I just copied what it said on the bluray, but God knows how it’s spelt but anyway thanks for you reply, need to look into that spelling man lol

Good job, it’s really good. Neverargreat, what do you mean when you say he “George lucased it? The colors look fine to me…
I decided to add a signature

He means I added a lot of extra stuff like houses etc

I feel like John … amazed, but at the same time annoyed.
I must admit that, even if you Lucasized it, it will blend quite well with the Blu-ray; but agree that those houses should not be there!
But you did a very good job, kudos! Hope to see also the other scenes restored - not too much Lucasized, though! 😉
If you will do a new version without houses - added clouds are OK to me - I’ll use it for my (future planned but always delayed) Star Wars Extended Edition.
Sadly my projects are lost due to an HDD crash… 😦 | [Fundamental Collection] thread | blog.spoRv.com | fan preservation forum: fanres.com

Yeah this is very true

Once it’s completed, I mean all Roto corrected, it will be very easy to remove all the Extra stuff as there on different layers, so I’ll make 2 versions, one with all the extras and one without… That should be fine for anyone wanting to use it… 😃
Fantastic
Great work.

If you plan to do some CGI stuff, can you replace the “sparks” with something which would at least slightly look like 2 space ships shooting at each other? If you indeed plan to do 2 different versions…
What everyone else said: Excellent cleanup, but didn’t need the extra stuff. 😃 Looking forward to a clean, unenhanced, version!

Oh good. That’s what people actually want.
Now that I’ve looked a little more carefully, I see that huge amounts of the frame were replaced (most of the sky, ground, etc). Presumably that makes it much easier to clean, when only a few objects on screen are carried over from the original (though they do generally look good). Handy for avoiding the enormous tramline scratches and such, but it has me managing my expectations for what can be done with purely the original frames!

Actually I have the version with no elements just raw footage cleaned up, not as clean as this but it’s like 90 percent cleaner than the original as thats as far as i could with the raw footage, it only then that I decided to go with the method that you see now, the first stage of clean took a very long time
