Maybe there’s a relationship between typical travel time from nearest reasonable pizza joint to your house and love for Papa Murphy’s.

My data points are: 2.5 minutes, not interested in Papa Murphy’s

I had never even heard of Papa Murphy’s until yesterday.

My wife and I have learned that it takes us about 20 minutes to get out of work clothes, make a salad, pour some wine, set up a movie, and kick back. If I pick up a Papa Murphy’s on the way home, it’s fresh out of the oven right about when we’re ready to eat, and tastes homemade. If I pick up from Round Table (across the street from Murph’s), we’re talking 45 minutes of congealing before we ever sit down for a bite.

Murphy’s also keeps costs down (and thus prices) by having small takeout stores - no ovens, no waiters, no tables, no drinks or liquor license, all they do is make dough and assemble the pizza you want. The hard part about making a pizza is kneeding the dough and slicing the ingredients, not the cooking - that part’s easy.

Ok, I get your point. I do disagree that a home oven can produce the same result as a commercial pizza oven (or wood fired pizza oven), but if it is a 25 minute drive to a pizza place, maybe cooking at home makes sense.

Me, I live in a city, so the variables are different.

Also Papa Murphy’s isn’t that good.

How many times or how long ago have you had it?

Which was how many years ago? I’m just curious if our experience is comparable.

If you haven’t had dominos in several years I suggest you try it again their recipe seems to have gotten better at some point.

Have their prices gotten better? I seem to remember them being on the more expensive side of the fast food pizzas.

But I also can’t comprehend liking little Caesars over pizza hut. Although I will admit little Caesars deep dish is pretty good though but most people don’t get that there they get the garbage five dollar ones that sit in the case as get harder than bruce willis

Uhm yeah they are definitely the cheapest if you do it right. Order online and the coupons they have available to click on are great. You can get unlimited mediums with two toppings for 5.99 each as long as you get at least two And order online. Way better than the garbage 5 dollar pizzas at LC

If you get the pizza “fresh” it doesn’t get hard too quickly. It is annoying when they sit on the shelf for ten minutes before you buy it. You’re right that it doesn’t take long to get stale. I’ll have to ask my friends about trying out Domino’s.

Yeah but it’s just not great to begin with.

And yeah for only a dollar more per pizza it’s way better. And their mediums are decent sized.

Like I said though little caesars does make a nice deep dish.

Snowed in, threw a frozen pizza in the oven. Came out a bit overcooked. Ate it.

Will go make a snowman.

Pizza snob.

No. That is pretty standard for someone who is used to a proper pizza.

What’s your standard for pizza? As in, a location or style that you hold to be canonical, Truth-Human Interface?

Pizza in Italy of course.

Am I the only one who thinks “genuine” Italian pizza looks nasty?

Like this?

Yeah, I’ll agree with you there.

Also, so people don’t say I’m a hypocrite:

You made the wrong choice. Should have gotten a fresh but not Cooked pizza.

But there’s no reason for frozen pizza. If it’s worth having pizza it’s worth having it right. I usually just order delivery and tip real high if it’s snowy

Delivery? You mean they bring it to your house and put it in your oven? Or they leave it at the doorstep and you have to put it in the oven yourself?

I think you just leave your car keys on the porch and they start your car and put the pizza under the hood.

Had Chinese food for dinner today. Went to the restaurant, they gave me a bucket of chopped veggies and meat and a tub of sauce, and I brought it home and cooked it in my wok. So convenient.

Though I forgot to put the rice on. Oh well.

Funny you should make that joke right now because I really just had Chinese food.

How funny? Stay tuned.
