My eyes! The goggles do nothing!

You should see the one with Kylo in the metal bikini.

Crazy that there are people out there that unironically think the prequels are any good.

There is still good in them. Lucas hasn’t driven it from them fully 😉

It just takes a competent fan edit and usually one that gets it right for you personally.

Like Jeebus said, crazy.

I could say the same for people that like TLJ but because I’m in the minority that makes me wrong…oh well

(I don’t think that btw)

The prequels have good ideas, but I don’t think there’s enough workable material in the prequels themselves to craft good movies out of them. Perhaps you can edit them to make them better, but the same’s true about Highlander 2, and the alternate version of that film still doesn’t rise above mediocrity.

Perhaps a radical re-edit of the PT will be made one day and my mind will change. 'Til then, I’ll stick with rewrites.

That’s like saying “I don’t like oranges. Perhaps one day I will, but for now I’ll stick with crackers.”

That’s fine but my point stands. Comparing a fanedit to a fanscript makes no sense.

A new script is the only thing that would solve anything though.

In a way. I think the PT scripts lacked focus and neeeded more rewrites in terms of how the story would unfold and the series of events flow into one another and improvements in the dialogue. But the story would have flown really well had the execution not been so bad imo. So not a complete rewrite/reimagine, just tighten things up a bit.

Yeah but not a script written here. A script by itself is a script, not a movie.

The Prequels have huge flaws that make the first two basically pointless.

  1. Obi-Wan is sidelined in TPM and all the story beats he should have had were shifted to Qui-Gon.
  2. Hayden wasn’t able to develop his character through three movies because having a nine year old Anakin was important for some reason. We don’t want to see little kid versions of OT characters (Boba Fett), this is some Pup Named Scooby Doo crap.
  3. The AOTC plot is stupid. The Sifo Dias stuff is dumb. Obi-Wan knows the clones were based off Jango Fett and sees Jango Fett go to Count Dooku yet they still use the Clone Army without any questions.
  4. Hayden and Natalie have no chemistry.
  5. Christopher Lee is wasted.

Also I’m sorry but General Grievous is dumb. Should have been Maul with cyber-legs. Imagine the duel from Rebels after Obi-Wan chases Maul through Utapau. Would have been an epic scene that ranks up with Yoda lifting the X-Wing. But no, more flippy duels and overlong lightsaber fights.

It seems like people are really embracing the new characters. In fact, the big question people ask me now about Star Wars is, “Are Finn and Poe gay lovers?” And really how the f*ck would I know? My second husband left me for a man, so my gaydar isn’t exactly what you’d call Death Star level quality. ----Carrie Fisher
