defense of Polanski’s raping of a child

Didn’t he apologize for those comments at some point?

I also find it ridiculous when people refuse to watch/buy good films because terrible people in real life, and sometimes not even bad people but just disagreements. (no offense)

Blood fountains, Uma Thurman killing dozens of Samari, and Blood Fountains.

Damn, you’re making me want to watch Kill Bill again.

Me to.

I bought Thriller on CD back in 2007, when MJ was still alive. I felt uncomfortable with the decision, knowing that while the music was excellent, Jackson might very well’ve been a child molester. But then he died, and I understood none of that money was going with him wherever he was going.

Vol. 1 is decent but has some silly over-the-top parts as mentioned.

Vol. 2 is really good.

I’ve never watched any Tarantino films, and his complicity in Weinstein’s assaults and defense of Polanski’s raping of a child make me not want to.

Yeah he’s probably not a great guy. But a lot of his movies are, and they are two separate things.

Maybe, but I doubt it was much more than noncommittal vagueness to save his reputation. He also abused and nearly killed Uma Thurman on the set of Kill Bill, and has likely done much more that we just don’t know about (yet).

I’ll probably watch some of his works in the future, and maybe I’ll like them, maybe I won’t. Either way, I’ll wait until he’s dead to buy them.

EDIT: What the battery man said.

Like I said, I just find that mentality to be a little ridiculous. They’re still rich and famous, we aren’t stopping that by not buying a couple blu-rays. I mean, whatever floats your airplane, but I don’t care if someone’s an asshole in real life when enjoying high quality art.

Collipso might be a green robot but I’ll still read his posts.

Planet of the Apes

Was reading some of the 50th anniversary hype and decided it was time to watch it again. One of my favorites. The last shot still gives me chills.

As an aside, the Blu-Ray is stunning. Especially the establishing shots when they first land and trek across the desert.
