You’ll have to buy the collection like I did (I’m also in Canada). Luckily, the Saga Bluray collection went on a massive sale recently. They used to be $110 and now they’re $75 (or they were when I bought mine). It didn’t seem like a one-time sale, though. It seemed like a permanent price drop. Maybe they’re trying to get rid of them…ebay is a good spot too.

if you join the disney movie club, the trilogy is only 26 dollars. Or 11.97 each for steelbooks of each movie…

In Canada? I just checked out the available Disney movies on that page and there’s not a single Star Wars movie available. Just Rebels Season 3.

I missed the canada part. Sorry about that. I’m in the U.S. and that’s where I found the set. It’s 37 dollars on amazon. 26 for it used on amazon. Or about 24 if you have a region free player…

US and Canada are the same region, so you can import the US set if it’s cheaper with no trouble.

Edit: Nevermind, it looks like the Amazon Video versions are only available in the USA and I live in Canada.

Have you tried Google?

https://play.google.com/store/movies/details/Star_Wars_The_Digital_Six_Film_Collection?id=sxvuhqcICJg

https://play.google.com/store/search?q=star war&c=movies

It’s $114.99! And that’s the bundle price for all six movies (the individual prices are $22.99 each which adds up to $140)! The Bluray pack for all 6 movies blue 3 bonus discs are $75 at Walmart! And I doubt you get all those extra bonus features from Google Play.

In Canada, maybe. Says $99.99 for me.

Sure. Or cheaper on eBay, maybe. He just seemed interested in getting it digitally.

And I doubt you get all those extra bonus features from Google Play.

I suppose so. In my opinion though, the bluray featurettes are decent but there’s a whole lot of meh as far as behind the scenes stuff. I guess I’m just spoiled by the fan-made content like Jamie Benning’s OT filmumentaries.

Yes, that’s what we’re talking about. Canada. He’s in Canada. Like me.

Well, yeah if he’s specifically interested in digital. I took it to mean that it might be cheaper than buying physical (which it isn’t). Apologies if I misunderstood.

That’s true of course, but still. Getting all 6 movies for a significantly cheaper price PLUS all that bonus content is still a much better deal.

Just curious: How large are the HDDs you’re getting?

I’d personally push him to look at 8TB WD Red drives, I’ve found those to be a pretty good value sweet spot at the moment, especially when I was plucking them off ebay for like $150 each around December.

I had my eye on 5TB ones - I need external, because I don’t have any more free HDD slots inside my computer.

Not sure the prices of them these days, but on my file server I have some 8-bay eSATA (port multiplied) enclosures, all you need is free PCI-e slots for the port-multiplier cards (and I’m sure there are USB3.0 options out there by now). Saves space compared to a bunch of separate enclosures, looks decent, runs well…

I decided to go with this in the end: https://www.amazon.com/20TB-Desktop-External-Drive-WDBFBE0200JBK-NESN/dp/B074R34DD3

This will enable me to transfer all the stuff from my internal drives and have those free for working on Despecialized.

I got it for 15,000 Czech Crowns (about 680 USD), which is a bargain, because normally HDDs cost around 1000CZK per TB.
