Wow, those are great resources for Ady to include for his extended battle scenes. Very noice!

I’m not at a place where I can download but out of curiosity, does that link include dialogue without music/sounds effects?

No character dialogue. Just effects.

Has the possibility of using Sebastian Shaw + ROTS wardrobe been discussed? Him looking like Anakin in his youth confused me a bit, and him wearing Obi-Wan’s robes confused me even more.

Just food for thought.

Hahaha I find this endearing.

I still think Jake Lloyd should be Ghost Anakin.

I don’t know if this will be overkill, unnecesary or already posted. But I saw it and I thought about the Revisited Editions.

This file contains sound effects from Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2017) including starship passbys, laser shots, explosions, lightsaber sounds, cockpit sounds, walker steps and a long list of other sounds. Very diverse, perfectly sorted and named.

That you ( an that you Rancor022) for these files. they will come in very handy

Absolutely brilliant! The person/face Sebastian Shaw is needed, but with his old clothes there is no connection to the Skywalker from Episode 2 and 3 … and with these modification the deliverance of Anakin Skywalker would be perfect.

and have a look at Lukes small wink to the Jedi ghosts in the theatrical version of the movie (was removed in SE)

The prequels will also be erased from the saga now that i am no longer doing them. I just can’t bring myself to ever watch them again. The prequel references added to ANH:R will be gone for the HD version (The battle droid added into the sandcrawler scene was only added as in in-joke anyway. Left in a junk pile 😉 ). I no longer have to worry about fixing anything in the OT that contradicts those films. And, even if by some miracle i do decide to do them, i’ll fix the problems in those instead. So no biggie. But, for me, I’d like to start my viewing with Rogue One, followed by the OT, then the ST , as those films are far superior to the PT. Those are the only parts i would like to fit together now. Although you’d probably still be able to watch the prequels with Revisited because nothing i’m doing really contradicts those anyway ( plus i may still be adding the “you’re Mother once thought as you do” line instead of the original "Obi-Wan). That’s just my personal opinion of the PT and i appreciate that there are fans out there that like them, so i wouldn’t really want to make Revisited so you couldn’t watch the PT too if you wanted to.

I doubt anybody will complain about the Battledroid scrap if you keep it in. Even if you ignore the PT it’s now just a extra bit of detail in the background brightening the place up a bit. Removing any trace of Battle of the Heroes from the DS duel is good, I love that music too much and it is not the right track for two bitter old men finding each other again.

However some references are too good to change, the updated DS plans animations and the holo-displays on Yavin for example. Maybe remove the blue Naboo-like detailing around the plans animation but the idea of the old style (from Rogue One and the origional ANH) being a ‘DVD cover’ type thing with your animation underneath would be the absalute best way to do it. And the holograms make the Battle of Yavin feel far more active or frantic than the little moving red pie chart.

I also think Vader should still have his eyebrows gone. He’s more machine now than man, he should look it. To the people saying it humanises him? Well we don’t really need that because there’s two other things that do that, the lack of yellow eyes and his appearance as a ghost later (which I also think should be Shaws head on Haydons costume and not a copy ‘n’ paste of Obi Wans costume), both of which I think are far more humanising than giving a man in a face-hugging airtight mask extra places for sweat to accumulate.

Also, unrelated to PT stuff, I hate all the dancing and singing in Jabbas Palace the original and the SE versions. I have no problem with an atmospheric band then Oolas (sp?) dance number leading to dinner time but the full one band and both choices of music? Nah. Though, this one isn’t so much a suggestion as it is a statement, so… Yeah.

I don’t know if this has been discussed, but I’ve been toying with the idea that instead of a second Death Star, it could be something to the affect of the Imperial City floating above Endor.

Minion

It could be the complete center of Imperial Power. A place Palpatine stays. That way if you destroy the main hive of the Empire, it’s a much bigger hit. There’s some finality to destroying their headquarters. I wouldn’t have it be weaponized, just protected by the shield on Endor. You could have the movie play pretty much as is, but change the mention of a Death Star. It really wasn’t a looming threat for Endor, at least.

You could even go the Lord of the Rings route, and have the Empire destroying the forests of Endor to fuel their war machine.

Just a thought. It’s something I’ve been mulling over lately.

A shoddy mockup of the throne room above a city scape, though I’d have it more dead looking. In the vein of Nostromo.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

There’s no way to have the Revisited Saga in 4K, is there?

Author
Time

ANH was made at 576p and is being redone at 720p, ESB was done at 720p, and ROTJ will also be done at 720p.

So, nope. Not 1080p and definitely not 4K.

Not unless you wanna upscale it yourself

Or recreate it from scratch using 35mm sources, then pass it on to Ady for final approval before release. Good Luck Editroid! Our hopes and dreams rest on your (hopefully) capable shoulders. I expect, and feel I deserve, constant updates.

Preferred Saga:
1/2: Hal9000
3: L8wrtr
4/5: Adywan
6-9: Hal9000

Uncompressed and upscaled 720p is as good as 1080p.

That’s one of my dreams, combining this with the new battle scenes on Endor would really improve rotj imho. Even better, reverting to Lucas’ original idea of Endor as the moon orbiting around Coruscant could work well with the celebration scenes on the capital, people would actually see the destruction of the emperor’s space station/seat of power.

I’m not sure if this has already been brought up, but Denis Lawson actually reprised his role as Wedge for the video game Rogue Squadron 2. It might be difficult to source high quality sound clips (what with the GameCube using those ridiculous “not-MiniDiscs”), but if you can find them they might come in handy for extra dialogue in the extended Battle of Endor.

Here’s a clip from RS2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDoApxyXwj0

Keep in mind Wedge is featured in pretty much every level so there’s a wealth of material available.

EDIT: I’ve realised that clip only has, like, one line from Wedge. Nevermind, you get the idea.

I played Revisited on my bigass TV and it looked amazing.

Adywan could change the scene in ANH:RHD so Greedo evades Solo’s shot, too! Actually they could shoot at each other multiple times and always evading the other’s shot until their blasters are empty.

This is a great idea for an edit like the ones Frink does. 😃

Suggestion for fix:

When the Ewoks make the surprise attack outside the bunker, you see Han pick up his blaster from the ground before hurling a Stormtrooper. Hard to spot without slow motion but there are actually two of his blasters placed in front of him, presumably to make it easier for Harrison to grab one in the midst of an action moment.

I’d add a screenshot but I don’t know how to add images!

Can anyone tell me how to add a pic on this forum?

You can quote a post with an image to figure out how to do it yourself, but don’t worry, I’m sure Ady is aware of this one, it’s one of the classic “movie mistakes”.

I suspect he is, when it comes to Star Wars knowledge the guy appears to be omnipotent!
