In any case, Frink, if you are unwilling/unable to discuss her reasons for being shocked, maybe you shouldn’t have said she was shocked in the first place.
Nope.
Sheesh
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Your attitude.

I apologize if I sounded harsh towards your wife. That wasn’t my intent and I don’t assume/think she’s a bad person at all.
I do have a gripe when people assume they know someone else is up to no good without having anything substantial to base that on, and that’s the impression I got from this.
I didn’t assume “the worst” about your wife, just that she said something I don’t think she had the facts to say. That doesn’t in any way make her a bad person.
And, hell, she was right!

That wasn’t a question, it was a shrug.

Ok.
I don’t see what’s so hard to believe. Guy’s always seemed like an asshole, and I thought that was the word on the street about him anyway. The leap from asshole to harasser is not a big one.

I didn’t know the guy was an asshole, or that there was negative word on the street about the guy.

Ok, let me make more clear you sometimes have a bad attitude and one of those times is now.

You don’t need to make it more clear.
What a lovely hot mess to wake up and see in here first thing in the morning. Everybody please chill out?
I’m so out of the loop, (I don’t watch the morning shows) that I’m only familiar with Lauer from his movie appearances.
This one seems prescient now.
Did he have a “reputation” only talked about in hushed whispers before this?
Where were you in '77?

It’s not hard for me to believe about anybody. I don’t think anybody’s saying it’s hard to believe.

Could be.

Sure it is! Almost everybody’s an asshole!

Matt Lauer Has Always Had Problems With Women on the TODAY Show
In other (continuing) news…
Minnesota Public Radio and its parent organization American Public Media confirmed Wednesday they’ve cut all business ties with Garrison Keillor after investigating a report of “inappropriate behavior” by Keillor involving someone who worked with him.
Keillor, whose ties to MPR go back nearly to its founding 50 years ago, retired last year from “A Prairie Home Companion,” the renowned weekly music and variety show he’d created. He continued to produce the “Writers Almanac” for syndication.
The allegations relate to Keillor’s conduct while he was responsible for the production of “A Prairie Home Companion.” They came to the company’s attention last month and were referred to a special committee of its board for investigation, APM chief executive Jon McTaggart said.
^ Aw, man. That one’s actually a bit of a bummer. Damnit.
I agree with Frink.
I agree with Frink.
I’m sorry but the position of TV’s Wife is already played by Dom.
I agree with Frink.
I agree with everyone who has called you a Frink sycophant.

That’s not what I told you to say. Shape up!
Again, here’s my original quote.
I am not surprised one bit at this. We were watching the Macy’s parade last week and my wife said she was shocked nothing had come out about him yet.
Show me where I said she said anything close to “he looks like someone who would sexually assault women.”
That’s not at all what she said. It has nothing to do with his looks. That’s what you read, not what I said.
I think if you reread his comment, you will see that you are the one who is reading into comments. Ray asked “Based on what?” He asked possible clarification questions, but nothing conclusive. Then he said that, unless there’s a good reason, it’s an ugly thing to say. I don’t care if it were your wife or anyone else, but if someone said something like that about me (because I guarantee you, there would be no evidence, considering there has never been such an event), it sure would be an ugly thing to say.

Based on what? How he looks? The way he talks?
Until someone has a real reason to say something like that it’s a terribly ugly thing to say, even if they end up being right.
JEDIT: If your wife had additional valid reasons, then that’s fine. But he was just asking what those reasons were. I do feel you have overreacted and that he truly didn’t mean to cause offense.

To elaborate on this, you should see that there are many issues wherein Frink and I disagree, particularly the MAC vs. PC and anime issues. I wouldn’t be comfortable with myself if I were changing my views simply to advance status on this forum.

Deleted and JEDITed: I can’t believe this is still going on. I will not respond to another post on this matter.
