Does anyone have any suggestions for music to use after the crawl down? I’m having a hard time finding one that fits.

EDIT:
The next preview will be with the completion of the opening scene.

Looking at this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NottMSxCPHg at around 2:00 mark you get a point of mystery which swiftly turns to action as they escape the TIEs which is sort of what the Queen’s ship is doing also. So if you can find that part of the ESB score you might find something useful. BTW voice wise I was recently in a works promotional film and someone said I sounded like Neil Gaiman so if you know what he sounds like and want something similar drop me a line by all means.

That’s actually the scene that influenced my opening scene the most (Hero ship chased by fighters cut off by massive ship)

The problem is that that music is too recognizable to me. It would pull me out of the movie instantly.

I will definitely use it as a temp track, though.

At some point, while the Queen’s ship is travelling through Hyperspace (after the opening battle), Obi Wan and Qui Gon will have their discussion (originally at the beginning of Phantom Menace). This conversation will also include elements of the conversation that takes place later on in the movie (When they land on Naboo for the second time).

I need this conversation to take place somewhere because it is one of the only things in the movie that establish Obi Wan’s character.

Progress is getting there! I’ve finalized the sound effects of the droid fighters and several more shots in SFM have been completed.

Holy shit, I know this could take along-ass time, but this is close to how I actually want the movie to be, plot-wise. I’m open to helping with anything that doesn’t involve CG (I can do editing, voice acting, etc.). Plus it looks promising. With the death of Shroud of the Sith, maybe this will actually follow through

Best of luck

No offense, kid, but I don’t think you know how to boil water.

Hey guys!

Unfortunately my goal of having a full preview finished before the the end of the month will be impossible.

This is due to various setbacks that have caused me to miss out on much time I have to work on the edit (don’t worry, I’m not dying).

In place of the preview, there will be a full trailer released (probably) next month. I have decided to do this in order to give me a chance to work on other parts of the film (because working on only one section for that long was driving me mad!)

Here is a little preview of a shot that will be in the trailer:

First of all, can I just say good on you for providing a clear overview of the general changes instead of just listing every single change in a list that makes me go TL;DR. I don’t care about minor changes, and though having a list of them is good, it’s not what I come here for. I get that it’s harder for more conservative edits, but it’s still worth trying. You also went the extra mile and made some banners for each section which is nice.

In terms of specifics, I disagree on some things, like removing Yoda, and the droids. However, I think we are on the same page when it comes to making Dooku the overarching villain. I intend to make him the dragon of the trilogy, equivalent to Vader in the Originals (as you can probably guess by the image in the page I linked to). Introducing the Seperatists in TPM does seem like the next logical step, but I won’t introduce the clones until AotC, so how would the Galaxy defend itself in the decade until then? Anyway, my plan was to recast Dooku (that can be excused by him aging ten years, right?), as I don’t see how it can be pulled off using only existing footage. Aside from the scene where he offers Padme to join the Seperatists, what is there to work with? I was similarly planning on including him on the bridge of the Donut (as far as I’m concerned, that’s the ship’s name) via hologram. I figured he’d replace Sidious, which I don’t think can be done with existing footage. How where you planning on pulling it off.

Basically all of the exposition regarding Dooku and the Separatists from Episode II is being moved into this movie (That one conference scene, people talking about Dooku, etc.)

I suggest it everywhere anyone asks about music. Shadows of the Empire sound track sounds star warsish but isn’t as recognisabe could be what your looking for

Woot! I second that…

Hello!

Work is still underway for my edit of the Phantom Menace. However, looking at that film for too long gives me a headache.

So, in order to relieve some boredom, I have been working on a scene from Episode II.

One of the worst aspects of Attack of the Clones is the awful fake-looking mattes. I hope my edits have remedied that, somewhat. I have also gone for a more “realistic” color palette.

EDITED LINK OUT

(My edited version is on the top)

I have some pretty ambitious ideas for Episode II, I hope for it to be nearly unrecognizable.

I’ll be glad to take any suggestions or answer any of your guys’s questions.

The Sun Rise as he exits the tent in infinitely better than the original. Great stuff!

I love the love binocular effect, however he is quite obviously not holding binoculars.

The first matte replacement is better that the original but needs a little work blending it with original image.

Really interested to see how your edits turns out, a lot of good ideas here.

More from Episode II

(Geonosis is now a gray planet surrounded in debris from an ancient war)

I tried creating that scene you spoke of between Dooku and Amidala. The deleted scene that serves as the base is shot from Dooku’s side, so the footage wouldn’t work for a scene of face-to-face communication. Besides, Jango’s in the shot. I tried working with the footage of Dooku talking to Obi-Wan, as it’s the only one with the kind of shots needed. I managed to find footage to go with the line “We don’t recognize the Republic out here.” Maybe the line “It’s a pity our paths had never crossed.” could be used too?

I have being looking at this topic (Fanedit) for sometime and your doing great. 😃

With Dooku, you could either film a hooded stand in or darken/ hide Sidious’s face, and dub him using dialogue from Clone Wars.

Both are pretty neat.

That’s what I initially intended to do for my edit, but then realized that wouldn’t line up with how he is depicted in the other films. He’s the public leader of the Seperatist, not a suspicious hooded figure.

I can’t find any footage of the Queen to use for her discussion with Dooku.

Also, how do you intend on implementing the Seperatist Council formation with Nute Gunray and Rune Haako present? They spend all of TPM on or above Naboo.

The queen footage will be lifted from the hologram message already in the film “You must contact me!”

The Council will be a little more tricky. I’ll probably recolor them because their costumes are different movie to movie.

Forgot about that scene, but checking it now, the Queen doesn’t say a word. I’m looking for scenes where she speaks to interact with Dooku. I tried messing with some audio effects to try to get Padme’s voice from the original scene to sound like the Queen’s. I didn’t get any satisfactory results.

On the other hand, I’ve been making good progress getting Captain Panaka to say “A transmission from Count Dooku.” I used Windu saying “Count Dooku” with slight uppitching, though. The only word I’m missing is “from”.

My solution for the Dooku background problem:

Masking. Very time-consuming masking.

It takes a long time to get it looking convincing in motion.

The Viceroy could be made a hologram, then his location wouldn’t be an issue.

I thought of that, but that’d be just as time consuming as removing him, if not more. That said, it would at least work narratively, since he would still be part of the meeting.

My plan is to keep him on Geonosis. The only problems are Jango’s presence and the camera angle, and really, it’s debatable whether those are even problems.

Do you think looping the Queen saying “Padme” can work for the visuals of her conversation with Dooku?, cause’ that’s all I’ve got on her side. I heard recently that the Queen’s voice was digitally altered to sound different from Padme’s, so I hope I can figure out what exactly the alterations were and apply them to Padme’s lines from her conversation with Dooku. I mean, I already tried, but I’ll try again. It probably just sounds off 'cause she isn’t using a british accent.
