It would certainly be nice to have everything done before TLJ so I’ll try to get things done (which isn’t my strong suit, sorry). Working on the deleted scene fix right now. The crawl can be done quickly if we all agree on the text.
Let us not forget about everything else in the edit which is superb!
Quite right. If SirRidley, DigMod, that weirdo Neverar and others could work together on an edit with Restructured (The Starkiller Edit) as its base, it would be a wonder to behold.

Oh yes. Now we’re talking.
You use a finished version of Restructured as the base, and find a good mix of Digimod’s edits and your edits for the ultimate version of the Force Awakens.
Thanks for the love Rush. These guys are too good for me ;P
Feel free to point out some of those errors or added messes in my thread: https://tinyurl.com/Fixithere-p
So did you all ever figure out a workable solution to remove the time codes?
I recently watched DigMod’s Heir to the Force edit, and I liked the aspect of keeping Ren’s helmet on—and not outright saying who his father is—until the confrontation on the bridge. It made me somewhat wish there was a mashup between that edit and this one.
I REALLY don’t like this concept, so I’m glad this edit is not going to include it. No offense to Digimod’s work, he did it well, but I think it would be best left up to another editor to combine these change.
I didn’t say he should in this edit. I said I wish there was one.
But just so we’re clear, when you guys say the extended reveal “creates more problems than it solves”, what problems are those exactly?
chyron just put a big Ric pic in your sig and be done with it.
Just checking in on this. If we are to release this in advance of TLJ, I’ll need the finished clips soon. I understand if it’s not possible; it’ll get finished and be just as good either way.

I think the most recent revision to the crawl is what I’d like it to be, so that’s fine.
The wait will be worth it for what you are bringing to the table, so we will just see whether it happens to be in time for TLJ. Not a problem either way.
Thank you for your patience! 😃 Happy to report that the Leia scene fix is going well! The timecode is gone and the braid is gone on the most difficult shot (where Leia moves to sit down), so not a lot of work left on that.
Great! If you finish that and save it in the same quality/length as the original Deleted Scenes video file, I could plug it into my timeline without any fuss and apply the color correction all at once.

Do you have any still frame shots or short video of the removals?
I forgot about the little part with Snap from Neverar’s cut, that needs timecode removal as well.

That looks perfect.
It looks fantastic.
By the way could someone post here an english transcript of the reinserted deleted scene dialog (that way I won’t make mistakes when the time to sync subtitles comes) ?
Thanks in advance !
(and if the new opening crawl could be sent to me - in low quality, don’t need high - so I can sync the french translation before the edit is complete, in order to get eveything done at once, it would be even better !)
Very impressive indeed!
“Because you are a PalpaWalker?”
Here’s a finished version (without sound) of the deleted scene, ready to be slotted into NeverarGreat’s timeline. I did color correction myself, as well.

As I’m typing this I notice Leia’s braid is visible from behind when she comes up to Kor Sella, I’ll see if I can do something about that too.
That’s just perfect. Amazing work!
Stunning and flawless work! Very, very good. 😃
Brilliant! I’ll wait until the braid fix before integrating it though. 😃

As I’ve stared at this in detail for hours I can assure you it’s not flawless, but I’m happy with how it turned out. I’m glad you appreciate it! 😉 I’ll have the last braid fixed soon.
That looks amazing! It’s great to see this edit coming together so nicely.
Aaand here’s the missing shot with the braid removed:

Hrumph. My Premiere Pro won’t import the avi, says it’s unsupported or corrupted. It’s done this before on certain avi’s, would it be possible to render this with a more Premiere-friendly codec?

Any suggestions? I used the Huffyuv codec which I’ve seen you using on clips, it seems to work fine in Premiere for me.
