I mean if we’re making assessments then we might as well point out that being this into a show arguably as child targeted as Dora the Explorer and Blues Clues as a grown man would suggest pedophilia. And that’s not an accusation, may pointing out what this would suggest to me. At the very least it’s a warning sign and if you don’t think so we’ll just have to agree to disagree. I know I’m not a bully in general but will admit that by this stage I don’t give a shit about chyrons feelings.
This is not going to lead to a good place where you’re going with this. I’ve seen no evidence to date MLP fans are pedos and to even hint at it is only making this train wreck worse.

Fair enough, I’d just woken up after not checking the forum for ~12 hours and saw a shitload of new posts on it and this thread bumped with even more discussion of it. I hadn’t really looked at post times when I made my comment.

I’ve done the same to people in the past only to get the “Whoa, calm down dude, over the line, we were just playing” reaction, which has never done anything but make me more pissed off at the person who’d been poking and prodding at me. Yeah, that’s not exactly what I was trying to do, and like I said, I didn’t realize it was over, since from my POV there were about 20 new posts on the subject since I’d last looked in off-topic 8 hours ago.

You’re not the only bad guy in the situation. Chyron isn’t purely the victim either, but the scales do tip in that direction.
Anyway, I shouldn’t have said anything. I intended to stay out of it, but I woke up to some real-life bullshit that made me angry and lash out at a friend, only to come here and see all this, which caused me to lash out here too.
I’ll go back to staying the hell out of this, if only because I don’t want to be the one to revive it if it was already dying out on its own.

I don’t know about Dora the Explorer but that kind of stuff happens all the time in shows aimed at small children. It’s because adults that wish they’d chosen other careers have to do the writing and animation so they include references like that to keep themselves from being completely uninterested. It’s why stuff like Spongebob has parodied James Bond and Psycho and other classics that the children watching definitely won’t understand.

It’s why stuff like Spongebob has parodied James Bond and Psycho and other classics that the children watching definitely won’t understand.
I’d say it’s done so that the parents watching have something to laugh at too and can then (at some point) show their children these things that now tie into the shows the kid likes.
It’s quite a handy thing.
