Here’s an idea I came up with yesterday. I don’t know how workable it is, and perhaps it’s on the hokey side, but here goes:

The Death Star II isn’t real. It’s a giant hologram, projected by the “shield generator” on the Endor moon. Palpatine came up with the ruse of a second Death Star to lure the Rebel fleet into a trap, where they would be kept from escaping by interdictor cruisers and pummelled by Star Destroyers. Instead of taking place on the Death Star II, the Luke/Vader/Palpatine confrontation could take place on the Eclipse. Perhaps a Rebel team could infiltrate and commandeer the bridge of the Executor, crash it into the Eclipse, severely damaging the Eclipse and sending it plummeting head-long into the gas giant of Endor itself.

LOL, no. Vader would visit some construct hidden in the shadows of the night side of Endor; we wouldn’t see anything of its exterior except its lights in close up. Audiences would be led to believe it’s the second Death Star at first, but later it would become apparent it’s the Eclipse.

Hum… why not… but holograms are kinda ugly in the OT, it would be inconsistent with the saga to get such a high tech hologram. Even the PT doesn’t have that. And wouldn’t it somehow rehash Snoke’s reveal in TFA ?

That being said, more badass imperial ships auch as the one you mention during the battle of Endor would be great.

Also (I didn’t see this listed anywhere or if it was already discussed) the scene when Obi-wan tells Luke about his sister, I would suggest if his force ghost be enhanced with the force glow like in TESB:R and maybe at the ending too with Obi-wan, Anakin (Sebastian Shaw), and Yoda.

One real suggestion - remove Ackbar’s first line ‘You can see here the Death Star orbiting the forest moon of Endor’. It’s technically incorrect, since the Death Star must remain above the shield generator. Also, he repeats the info about the forest moon later, so nothing is lost.

To be fair impscum isn’t ever actually hateful I wouldn’t say. Snobby and condescending absolutely, but not hateful.
