sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere , but I am watching the Gout of Empire Strikes back with the Spanish language track enabled and am wondering how they chose the voice over actors , like , what is the process for casting the characters , a certain nobility for obi-wan ? Does Yoda speak in backward syntax ? I do not speak Spanish and am curious . I wonder how much I can learn to speak it through watching the star wars movies as I have most of them memorized. Thoughts ?

Interesting idea, as Star Wars has been dubbed into Navajo in an effort to keep that language alive.

I’ve read that directors like Kubrick meticulously selected voice over actors for foreign dubs of his films, but no idea what the process was like for Star Wars.

I’ve been watching the great old detective show Ironside late on the weekends on Cozi TV, and a young Harrison Ford appeared in a first season episode. He played a college grad who planned on a career at NASA, but his carpenter father is accused of an old murder. What are the odds?
For those of you just tuning in, Harrison was a carpenter when acting gigs were thin.

Ironside had been out of syndication for decades. The pilot movie would turn up on a weekend now and again. Bruce Lee had a small part in another episode. Half the fun for me is spotting future superstars, and recognizing old sets on the Universal backlot. Haven’t seen the Munsters mansion or Norman Bates’ house yet, but they’re bound to turn up.

The only regular episode I could clearly recall from childhood was one set in a “haunted” house because it had a chilling ghost effect in it that probably gave me spooky dreams.

The series had a healthy run well into the '70’s. Will be interesting to see if more Star Wars connections pop up.

and Godzilla! and Perry Mason. Raymond Burr was great in everything he did. Very underrated.

I died laughing when Pinky and The Brain did a Godzilla spoof complete with random cutaways to Burr’s character. Unless you know how Burr was inserted into the American cut of the movie you probably wouldn’t get the joke.

I once wanted an animation cel of Pinky and Brain as Threepio and Artoo, but the old WB studio store never got their hands on one. I did score a cel of Duck Vader from a Tiny Toons spoof.
This is the one I have, give or take a frame.

Still wish I had some duck troopers to keep him company!
