You’re saying you didn’t like Kruge’s character from Star Trek III? I thought he did a fantastic job.

All I could see was Doc Brown in a Klingon costume.

Nevermind that Back to the Future was released July 3, 1985, and Star Trek III was released June 1, 1984.

Release order /= viewed order.

Yes, but I don’t think that’s a fault of the casting.

Ok.

But again, Trek itself reuses the same recurring actors for different roles. To me, saying Doc Brown is too recognizable to be a convincing Kruge is to say Shran is too recognizable to be a convincing Weyoun.

Also, Kruge’s voice is a lot more gravelly than Doc Brown’s.

To you, maybe. To me, I have zero idea what this means.

I saw at least one stand up comedian at the time point out it was Reverend Jim from Taxi in a Klingon costume. 😛

I’m saying he doesn’t look as much like his Doc Brown character as I was hoping.

All I meant was his voice is very distinctive. He’s Christopher Lloyd. It’s not his fault, he’s a great actor, but it’s hard for me to take him seriously as a Klingon when his voice is coming out of it.

It means this is all the same actor, and this is all from just Trek.

You guys seem to be focusing way too much on the Doc Brown comment specifically. See my last response to ray.

Yeah ok but I don’t know who that is. He’s not Christopher Lloyd recognizable, I’m quite sure.

Man, you Star Trek people are almost as bad as the Star Wars people!

And they can get away with using him that because he’s never had a role or persona that defined him to millions of people.

So what you’re saying is you haven’t watched Trek since The Next Generation?

Pretty much yeah.

I’m a casual fan. I’ve seen a decent number of TOS and TNG episodes, but not by all means all of them. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a single episode of Voyager, Enterprise, or whatever-the-other-show-was-called show (never mind I just remembered, DS9). I’ve seen every movie, but only really liked maybe four or five (including two JJ movies, shoot me). The others ranged from meh to bleh.

Yeah but horror fans number in the thousands rather than millions. :p

Nobody ever notices John Larroquette in TSFS.

I haven’t sen much of TNG and I’ve hated what I’ve seen.
I’ve seen TOS and the first two movies. I like all of that.
I’ve seen lot’s of TNG and the first two reboots and did not like that.

Like I said a few posts back, casual Star Trek fans are the worst!

I, of course, see Herbert West. But that’s nowhere near a role like Doc Brown and folks like us are clearly in the minority.

Trek heretic!

I’ve seen TOS and the first two movies. I like all of that.

Bless you, my son.

I’ve seen lot’s

I don’t necessarily agree, but this is understandable.

Final ruling: heretic!
