TFA had real characters…while return of the jedi had nothing but meaningless drivel and no story

That must be the most stupid thing I have seen in while around here.

What the hell is this?

It looks like they got lazy and used an old background. Notice the OT TIE as well.

It seems like people are really embracing the new characters. In fact, the big question people ask me now about Star Wars is, “Are Finn and Poe gay lovers?” And really how the f*ck would I know? My second husband left me for a man, so my gaydar isn’t exactly what you’d call Death Star level quality. ----Carrie Fisher

The new movies have the perfect mix of new ships and characters, while also having ships that are derivative of earlier versions as there should be, and of course seeing our old favorite characters again.

Probably a mockup and not final package art. It looks meaner than Vader’s personal fighter.

I think it evokes Vader’s TIE and the bomber in addition to the interceptor. It’s interesting that it has the Imperial color scheme rather than the First Order. I wonder if it’s actually a leftover prototype from the old Empire?

I like that idea.

Looks like somebody in the design department really liked the old x-wing and TIE fighter video games…

Ugh. I mean sure I get it. But it only serves to highlight the general design problems with the First Order. Why are they even using basic TIE Fighters at all? Plus if white solar panels (wat) were specifically chosen how come they’re missing on this model?

Author

I always thought they were radiators to dissipate heat, not solar panels.

It’s always been labelled as a Solar Array. I don’t particularly mind, since real technology has no place here. But the lack of consistency in design and progression of the fighter types is just weird.

lets hope that palpatine-itis doesnt effect any of the characters…for those wondering what that means

palpatine-itis: a interesting and mysterious(or compelling) presence who becomes bland and boring as we learn the backstory of such a character…palpatine was a semi-interesting character that slowly became the king of plot-holes and contrivances as we learned more about him in the PT

Sorry, but Palpatine was one of the more brilliant aspects of the PT. And as to your earlier comment that lumped ROTJ with the PT, you couldn’t be more wrong. I’ve always found ROTJ to be a fitting and well done completion of the trilogy. The Ewoks and 2nd Death Star may feel a bit contrived (and show the earliest signs of Lucas’s laziness since they are rehashed from earlier drafts of the story), but what the characters do with the situation they find themselves in is a great third act of the trilogy. And no moment of the OT is anywhere near as powerful as the final part of Luke and Vader’s duel and the following confrontation between Luke and the Emperor and the Emperor’s demise at Vader’s hands (or hand and stump maybe?).

My question about 8 and 9 is if they can make Snoke and his eventual demise even more powerful than that.

I think if you want a character who becomes less interesting the more you learn about him, you need look no farther than Boba Fett.

darth vader walks to Kathleen Kennedy

darth vader: “Kathleen”

kennedy: “lord vader”

vader: “you seem unsettled”

kennedy: “there is just a GREAT many things to attend to…just pressed for time”

vader: “my apologies…you do have a great many things to explain”

kennedy: “i delivered the films that you requested…the fans now rule the universe the last 2 star wars films have high scores on rotten tomatoes and IMDB”

vader: “the franchises power to create problems has certainly been confirmed…han solo directors destroyed…colin leaving the production of episode 9”

Kennedy: it was colin who directed episode 9 and destroyed book of henry

vader: “you were not summoned here to make excuses kennedy”

Kennedy: no but…

vader: “there is no lucas to blame, fans has been informed that the film was being protected from colin, i expect you not to rest until you can assure the emperor, that colins firing will not compromise our reputation in anyway”

kennedy: “am i still in command…you will speak to the fans about this…”

she falls on the floor…grasping at her throat

vader: “be careful not to choke on your aspirations…Kennedy”

so much rogue one dialogue can be applied to this situation that it is not even funny

That a rather bizarre way to describe it.
