After they get rid of the Confederate statue in Charlottesville, it should be replaced improved with something like this.

But seriously, I don’t know much about Charlottesville. If there are local Jewish figures up for consideration, I’d say move them to the top of the list. Just to remind the Nazis that they absolutely will be replaced, every last one, with the very people they want to murder.

Your point was fair. Not knowing anything about Charlottesville history other than the last week, it was the best I could come up with on short notice.

Maybe there is someone the history books have overlooked that could be honored? Someone who tended to wounded soldiers for example.

Well, I doubt many of the Nazis that killed Anne Frank were from Amsterdam, so their birthplaces don’t matter so much as where they choose to do the awful things they do. In that sense, an “Up yours, Nazis!” statue is warranted in both Charlottesville and Amsterdam, even if not a single Nazi was born in either place.

Sorry, guys. I just found out Dave Matthews is from Charlottesville. So no new statues – too risky!

Yep, that’s BLM in my experience. Very disciplined and restrained in their own actions (physically – they do try to grab headlines verbally), and unafraid to venture into hotspots where shit is likely to explode into violence on a hair trigger. It’s a sort of Rorschach Test to the observer – either it’s “Wow they are disciplined/always on-message for the media!” or “What were they doing there in the first place if they knew there was going to be rioting? They must have wanted/triggered it!”

Antifa is really trying to give everyone on the left a bad name, despite being a (non)organization whose primary identity is anarchy. I found this website interesting:

The groups attending the protest had members from White Supremacist, Alt-Right, KKK, Neo-Nazi, Neo-Confederate, and Traditional Workers Party groups. Almost all of these groups are openly and definitively racist (The Traditional Workers party is a bit more coy). The counterprotesters on the other hand were comprised of Antifa and BLM. Although they don’t have an official stance on violence, it’s pretty clear by their founding principles that BLM favors nonviolence and respects the rule of law. Antifa does not, and until the Left can easily and forcefully denounce and reject Antifa, it’s going to forfeit the moral high ground, no matter how well behaved its counterprotests are.
