It's mention by Sidious in TPM, so i geuss people know what they are....the bad guys!!

I think "the rise of the empire" is a great title for the entire prequel trilogy. The rise of the empire trilogy. The original trilogy shoule be called... I can't think of one right now. Any suggestions?

All real critizim is for the love dialog and cutsy characters. Revenge of the Sith will have none of that. It is also the darkest most action orientated of the Star Wars movies. Come on. We all have those moments where we want the bad guys to win.

Well, TMP was pretty good, and AotC was a considerable improvement.

If that trend keeps up, RotS should be the best of the prequels.

thats what i said... but when you think of it... AOTC could have been A LOT!! better...
so if ROTS is better than AOTC its not saying that much...

im hoping it surpasses AOTC...
but we'll have to just wait and see

Surpassing AOTC wouldn't be that hard. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Lucas can pull a rabbit out of his hat and actually make a film on par (or fairly close) to Empire. However, I think that might be asking too much at this late stage of the game.

whoa!
Empire would be pushing it i think... depends on where you rate empire between the OT though...
for me its the best..

i would be happy with something that meets the likes of ROTJ... just darker...

Revenge of the Sith doesn't have to be much better to surpase Return of the Jedi. Even The Phantom Menace was better then Return of the Jedi. Suggesting Return of the Jeid is better then Attack of the Clones is absolute blasphmy. Revenge of the Sith will be much darker then The Empire Strikes Back ever was. I love the idea of a big budget movie where the bad guys win. Similar to Rise of the Machines (maybe the reason Rise of the Empire wasn't used) if Terminator 3 had ended happy it would have sucked. I enjoyed that style of setting up a classic clique good guy triumph ending only to depress you in the end. I think it might be interesting if Revenge of the Sith follows the same style.

Return of the Jeid is better then Attack of the Clones...

and Terminator 3 already sucked...
nothing they could have done in the end would have saved that movie...

they should have left that movie to Cameron or just left it alone period...

Luke, the way I rate the films is Empire is the best, then Star Wars (ANH) and then Jedi. However, my favorite one is ANH. I can watch that one over and over and over. When I was a kid, I read the novel like 10 times in a row. Literally. I would get to the last page, and then start the book over. Kind of sick when I think about it now. Eh! I was 12. What can you expect.

Jedi was such a dissapointment when I saw it in 83. Especially after Empire was so great. However, I can see your point. If Lucas can pull of ROTS at least as well as Jedi (but darker) then it stands to be the best of the three prequels.

i mean the man at least is getting better with them.... but this being the last one he better really pull it together...

yup...
i especially want to see his explanation as to why Hayden comes back in ROTJ rather than Shaw...
that should be entertaining...
and because of that change he loses screentime for the explanation which could have been dedicated to other things... story, character development, maybe linking the two trilogies together... ahhhh

he'll prolly just give us another Yoda fight instead!
BAH!

You know, the one thing that I noticed on the deleted scenes section of AOTC DVD. All of the stuff with Padame that he cut out, GL kept stating that 'while this is a nice bit of character developement, it really detracts from the story or wasn't essential to telling the story.' Something like that, anyway.

Hmmmm. Just goes to show ya. Give Lucas a good scene that will develope your character and you can damn sure count on it ending up on the cutting room floor. Pathetic.

YA!!!
those are the scenes i was talkin about on here...
i said he should have kept those in the damn movie... who cares if it slows it down a little... take out all the cheesy romance scenes with Anakin and Padme like that picnic crap and give us these....

i still think they were crucial to making the romance somewhat believable...
im not saying that with these scenes the movie would have been better... but it sure would have improved it...
thats just my opinion though...

im glad im not the only one who noticed those scenes R2...

Terminator 3 was superior to Terminator 2 but it didn't live up to the original. Also Cameron didn't want to return. He said no mulitple times. Terminator 2 had no conclusion therefore you can't just leave it alone. It would be The Two Towers without ever making Return of the King. Who can forget Return of the Jedis view on Imperial fighting

Attack of the Clones - Clones wipe out droid army
A New Hope - Clones take over Leias ship in minutes
The Empire Strikes Back - They take Cloud City in a matter of hours
Return of the Jedi - Loose to teddy bears with sticks

Empire Strikes Back was great. Its a true classic. Attack of the Clones did everything right by following The Empires Strikes Backs influence. Keeping the same feel and story that made that movie so good but making it bigger and more exciting.

I love watching deleted scenes. It's kindo of fun to imagine the 'movie that might have been.' In the case of AOTC, there are two deleted scenes that I feel would have helped that story alot. The senate scene with Padame and the scene with Padame's family. The one with her family really showed that she was starting to have some feelings for Anikin. The picinc scene is fine until the whole riding the giant flea part. Cut the fire side chat all together or re-edit it so that it doesn't come off as totally pathetic and lame. And totally excise that (I'm going to say it) fucking horrible line about 'dieing a little bit each day' and the whole love story might have been more believable.

Just give us something, anything that makes these two more sympathetic and believable. Both TPM and AOTC in the hands of a skilled editor can be turned into decent movies. Not great, but decent. At least more watchable.

Attack of the Clones was already the longest Star Wars movie

Being a little bit critical of Attack of the Clones is alright but worse then Return of the Jedi thats low. Like those who say The Family Guy is better then Futurama. Or Alice and Wonderland is better then The Lion King. Its just nots.

I don't hate them. I just think that there are a couple of better movies in all of the mess. Of the two, I did like AOTC much better than TPM. There are certain parts of both movies that could have been edited better. Changes that would make the stories flow a little better. I'd say 90% of the Anikin/Padame love scenes need some serious reworking. That fireside chat scene could use some major overhauling. Snipping a line here or there in that scene could make Anikin more believable and not come off as so immature. I get the point that he is 19, but still. Anyway, the love scenes are just about the only part of AOTC that I find to be cringe inducing moments. The rest of the movie is decent. TPM, just needs to be tightened up just a little. Less Jar Jar and a few other tweaks and that one is fine.

OH. In that case I agree with you Artoo.

You just made it sound earlier like you thought the prequels were absolute disasters like the Holiday Special.
