Is Star Wars Your Favorite Movie?

Author

I’m curious how many people on this forum would consider Star Wars, or any of its sequels, to be their all time favorite movie. It’s not mine, but it’s up there.

Take the opening reel of The Adventures of Robin Hood, mix in the scene in Ben’s hut from Star Wars and the entire second half of Empire Strikes Back, a quiet scene of introspection from The Fountain, the swordfight from Princess Bride, the Balrog scene from Fellowship of the Ring, the testing of the fission bomb from Sunshine, and the final scene from The Matrix, and you have something approximating my favorite movie of all time.

You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.

See, Neverar gets it.

I believe the first SW film has the best pacing of any movie to this day.

Nah, my favourite movie (not best movie) is The Evil Dead since every flaw I find with the film makes me love it more.

Not enough people read the EU.

When I first saw STAR WARS in 1982 I thought it was the best film ever made, then I saw JAWS and ALIEN the following year and changed my mind.

I can’t really narrow it down to a single favorite movie, but ANH and ESB are in the very top tier for me.

Seeing ESB:R leaves no doubt in my mind as to where I place this film. My enjoyment and level of emotional investment when it comes to ESB is unrivaled and to me it’s the greatest story ever written.

No, but it’s my favourite in the trilogy. There are far too many movies up there to put anything in this series in the top 10 or 20 of all time though.

I’ll just repeat my answer from the other thread.

I don’t have favorite movies anymore.

With that said, I don’t spend time on a Ghostbusters forum.

And with that said, I don’t know if there’s a Ghostbusters forum with an off-topic section as entertaining as this one.

I honestly forgot that I’m the one that started the other thread.

I asked this question in an Off-Topic thread over a year ago and was told to start a thread about it in General SW but never did.

Was that in The New Thread Thread and was I the one who said to do so? If that’s the case then I’ll take the blame. Otherwise the fault lies with you. :p

It was you that told me to do it, but I don’t remember in which thread.

There have been times “Star Wars” in general has been supplanted in my life by other things I’m an enthusiast for, but I always come home.

Yes, SW is and will always be my favorite movie.

It is not my favorite movie, but definitely the one I’ve spent the most time with. I have a hard time narrowing down my favorites to 50 movies.
