I noticed that shot specifically (the Leia kissing Luke bit) looked a bit more detail-less and washed-out compared to the others in that scene, like Ady spliced in the GOUT transfer or something and just walked away. 😄

Due to various unavoidable reasons adywan, I STILL haven’t been able to watch this yet since it’s release, dammit! 😦

My ESB:R download is locked and ready to go…but due to work and family matters, it will need to wait yet ANOTHER bleedin’ day until I can get peace to transport myself to a galaxy far, far away for a couple of hours once again…

I can’t wait to see the various additions that were missing from the still-in-progress ‘workprint’ you sent me years ago, and I’ll get back with some thoughts when I’ve finally seen it all. I’ve not yet read any of the comments here since I last posted a couple of days ago, but will eventually catch up on all those too.

I’m sure that your efforts will have amazed a lot of fans since it’s release…but it won’t be until the extensive ‘visual comparison guide’ is eventually revealed that everyone will be able to witness the true firepower of this fully armed and operational fan edit!

I am so looking forward to seeing how it all came together finally.

(However I’m peeved that with one thing and another, that I was never able to get certain ‘Dagobah’ suggestions to you that I had extensively ‘saved to draft’ before the OT site changes a good while back. All my detailed descriptions and many screenshots (66 in total!) were completely lost just before I got a chance to post them all here, if you recall. It was little things that hadn’t been brought up by anyone before, but I’ve got my fingers crossed that you will have picked up on a paricular inconsistency that bugged me most to do with all that, as I know it would have been a very easy fix for your capabilities. Either way, I really hope that Jay can re-instate the very helpful ‘save to draft’ feature at some point, to make things much easier for some of the eventual ROTJ:R suggestions that are gonna come your way…) 😃

Seriously, while a large majority of known issues have been fixed there are a few that are still in the film. Some that you’ll have to live with, and a few that could possibly be fixed…

For the record, I wouldn’t “fix” the kiss, it’s as much a part of the movie as “No, I am your father” is. I don’t think there’s a single big thing or nitpick he has missed. Though he has introduced a couple new small issues (visible layer masks, typos), which I trust will be resolved when the BD-25 version comes out.

I’m also not a fan of the new title crawl, but that’s just me. The font looks a bit too thin, and it doesn’t look right to me without gate weave.

I was waiting for it to be like a sunrise or something coming through the trees and then when I saw it was like just a blue haze I was quite surprised but it made complete sense and I nodded yes.

The amount of clean up on the shot’s at the end basically for me at least it was just lovely to see that all looking perfect and I felt that yeah official release so horribly bad theres too many good things to mention. Ady fixing the holes in peoples heads also. Crushed blacks gone thank god… The color correction it’s the best I have ever seen it look.

It’s like a huge repair job with great extras.

Pls do you have some script(for transform GOUT subtitles to ESB REVISITED) for making subtitles which is not included in ESB REVISITED?

I never meant the kiss between Luke and Leia, but there is the kiss between Han and Leia on the MF before C-3PO interrupts them where in one shot she has her hands down while kissing him then in the next shot her arms are around him.

I think it’s the best deleted scene in all of Star Wars it’s a shame they only released it in Black and White. But it’s probably pretty impossible. Or very, very difficult. Someone was colorizing some shots and then they disappeared. But Ady did not want to change the structure of the film and fair play to him.

I’m probably going to just extract the Swedish subtitles from Adywan’s MKV and then match the timing to Project Threepio’s Finnish subtitles. There are no lines removed after all compared to Despecialized, right?

As everyone here, I watched ESB countless times since I’m 8 years old (now 42…), I made two fanedits using this movie, so I know every shot by heart, and yet… beside the obvious new moving spaceships, engines and creatures, I have to say that everything is so seamlessly integrated that I didn’t really pay attention to it (exept having the feeling that everything is beautiful, of course). It’s not just that it’s technically great. It is that it respects the design and overall style of Star Wars.
Special thumbs up for the new “matte paintings” on Hoth. Jaw dropping without being distracting.
That’s the work of a lifetime, right here.

Not sure if this was serious, but as someone checking the forum while still downloading the edit, this was unexpected and a little dismaying (not the fact that Adywan might have made the change you mentioned, but that you mentioned it like this without even 12 hours passing for people to watch the movie for themselves). Hoping it was a joke, and that something major was not ruined before my first viewing.

Thanks to everyone else who has posted their responses in a more community-friendly way – this day has been a long time coming for many of us, and it’s so much fun to see the enthusiasm and congratulations pouring in. I’m realizing I may need to stay away from the thread until I finish downloading and watching the movie, so that I can avoid being spoiled and people can discuss in as much detail as they want.

In the meantime, thank you again Adywan for all your hard work over the years!

Really sorry bro, It wasn’t a joke but it isn’t true either. As I said in another post I got really confused and for some reason I forgot Empire ended that way. I remembered the last shot being Luke and Leía looking at space.

Having said that I now realized it would have been highly disrespectful to spoil it if it had been true. I will edit my post.
