I didn’t know Conjuring was so well thought of. I liked it though.

Pretty much this. I thought it was fine, not great, but certainly better than shitty trash horror movies like NOES

Funny how most horror fans disagree with you regarding NOES.

Oh I have no doubt. But that’s like saying most anime fans like anime. It doesn’t make anime good.

Most horror films, or more specifically most slasher films, are not good films.

I know they ran it into the ground with the sequels, but the original NOES is pretty damn terrifying.

Not to mention it had a strong female protagonist and was conceived by a filmmaker who had a vision and a story to tell, a far cry from Halloween-knockoff dross like Friday the 13th which is only about tits and blood.

Wes Craven did that again with Scream in the 90s.

Scream 1 was the rare slasher film that was a good movie.

A strange game.

The only winning move is not to play.

Funny how most horror fans disagree with you about the Conjuring. May not be as highly regarded as the first noes, but it’s still well thought of.

You can’t get an ulcer arguing with someone about a movie.

At least, you shouldn’t.

I had to Google “NOES” because I couldn’t figure out what you people were talking about.

I’m handing in my horror movie fan membership card - I don’t deserve it.

Forgiveness, please.

I’m always willing to forgive. It’s the forgetting I have a hard time with.

Nah, I’ve read enough from ya to know you deserve to be a card carrying member.
It’s all these dumb acronyms. I usually don’t recognize what they mean right away.

The Hallow (2015)

Had never heard of this film before today. Just happened to stumble upon it and I’m glad I did. This was director Corin Hardy’s debut and what a debut it is. The film is a surprisingly well done exploration of real Irish folklore in a modern context. Everything from the script, the performances, the cinematography and effects are executed with perfection. It’s a real shame this was never released theatrically stateside, I think it would have done very well. If you’re looking for a new horror/monster film to check out, I highly recommend it!

It took me a while to figure it out too, and I even googled it and still couldn’t figure it out. The fact that he said the first and third NOES were could is what tipped me off that it was Nightmare on Elm Street.

Alien: Covenant

Ouch… Covenant is for Prometheus what Prometheus is for Alien. The worst in the series and even the worst Friday the 13th

I haven’t even seen it and I already know that’s a dumb rating because Mala.

Is Alien: Covenant a crossover with the Friday the 13th series? How is it the worst Friday the 13th?

War of the Planet of the Apes…I liked it even though it could have been trimmed down quite a bit; a fitting end to the trilogy. 8/10

In the spirit of the new Ape trilogy, I rented the 1968 original. A bit cheesy, mostly Heston’s delivery, but a decent vintage sci-fi offering…
2 1/2 damn dirty apes out of a possible 4.

Don’t try to apply logic to Mala. It just bounces off her.

As an Alien film that’s the score what it deserves. If you forget about Alien completely it’s a pretty good flick, but why should one have to do that?

I don’t know where Friday The 13th fits into this though.

Worser than the worst Friday the 13th maybe? That’s pretty worse - I don’t think it’s the worstest out of any of those.

This actually began as a sensible post, sorry.
