What 'a Star Wars Story' / anthology / spinoff film would you like to see? — Page 7

That’s a good idea. More of a “People Vader is going to kill” movie than a “Vader movie”.

I’d be down to see that film, my one reservation being that I fear new spinoffs may go too far in the ‘explaining every nook and cranny of the OT’ direction.

Eh, regarding the scene in R1, Vader clearly brings troops with him. Its evidenced by both his line about preparing a boarding party and the fact that Stormtroopers show up next to him as they watch the Tantive IV fly away. As to why he takes on the rebels single handedly? Perhaps he had his team split up to search the ship faster and he just happened to be the one who found them first. He didn’t really have time to wait for backup. It’s an entirely different scenario than the opening of Star Wars where he’s cornered and captured the ship and can take his time letting the troops storm it.

I want to see a spin-off movie about something never explored in Star Wars before. No old planets, no old characters.

Just new stuff.

Disney is going to sell you rehash after rehash after spinoff. If you’re expecting anything else you are going to be disappointed.

Alderaan is going to make restatement after restatement after reiteration. If you’re expecting anything else you are going to be disappointed.

This assumption that vader cannot take on a army of rebels by himself is pretty retarded and diminishes vader

He went with stormtroopers because they clean the mess up that he made…not the other way around

No, he’s saying that ‘retard’ is an offensive term.

If you’re referring to the end of Rogue One, I agree. Hell, we even see Vader take on an actual army in Vader Down.

I’ll stop being negative when

A. the nuEU stops churning out sub-par fan-fiction

B. I die

Whichever comes first.

Well at least vader down has a actual story

Unlike return of the jedi…which was shit and only liked because of the 80s…nothing more

Rest assured, aside from Luke’s snazzy black outfit and green lightsaber, I love nothing about ROTJ.

Hey, c’mon man, it ain’t just sub-par fan-fiction - it is market-tested, focus-group approved sub-par fan-fiction!

Hahahaha.

I don’t even think ROTJ is great. But this is silly.

ROTJ is great

We need a Rogue Squadron anthology series

I’d like to see the contents of the Secret Library Archive Project. SW films where “canon” has no meaning would be a godsend.

“That Darth Vader, man. Sure does love eating Jedi.”

I’ll +1 that.

There is a distinct lack of movies about aerial combat / dogfighting. It seems like there used to be quite a few in the 50s when Hollywood glorified its WW2 combat aces. And since then…Top Gun in 1987? Red Tails in 2012?

A Star Wars standalone where the bulk of action is in space could be a very good thing.

Oh man, I’d definitely be down for a movie, or even series of them, about a rebel pilot squadron! In fact, the space battle in Rogue One really resonated with me because it felt SO MUCH like some of the classic '90’s EU such as the X-Wing, TIE Fighter, and Rebel Assault (1&2) video games as well as the Rogue squadron novels!

Why not just follow Biggs and Tank when they leave Tatooine and join The Academy. They meet up with a younger Porkins and Wedge and eventually join the Rebellion at the end, but Biggs makes a small stop on Tatooine to visit Luke before he meets up with the Rebellion at the end of the film. We all know this to be the Anchorhead deleted scene. You could clean up those scenes and add them to the new film.

Find actors who resemble a young Garrick Hagon, William Hootkins, and Denis Lawson.

An anthology film about Vader would most definitely be an excellent idea and maybe have Boba Fett in it somehow. We could see Vader in all new ways like without his cape on or getting suited up after a dip in the ol’ bacta tank. Rumor has it that there was a scene cut in Rogue One that showed Vader getting dressed after his time in the bacta tank. It goes without saying that a Vader movie would most assuredly make a ton of money.
