Yes, Starkiller base is stupid… but so were the Ewoks. Personally I think the OT and Rogue One are better than TFA… but TFA is not that much worse than ROTJ. I think it’s a good movie and entertaining to watch.

I can’t even sit through AOTC. IF anyone honestly thinks TFA is that bad please try actually sitting down and watching AOTC all the way through

And that’s the point I was making about Rogue One as well. If you don’t like either TFA or RO, that’s fine. If you prefer to watch the PT to those two movies, ok that’s your prerogative. But if you think the PT is better made, or do something insane like give the PT a 5/10 and RO a 1/10, you’re just trolling for reactions. So congratulations.

I actually don’t understand OT fans that don’t like Rogue One at all (I do get the TFA criticism)…I kind of feel like that’s the exact type of movie I’ve been waiting for since I was a kid in the 1980s. To each their own I suppose.

Honestly - if you didn’t like Rogue One I kind of feel like it’s time to move on from SW, because you are never going to like anything new

Well I did mention TFA briefly in connection to what the previous poster said, but he didn’t even include that part in his quote of me where he continued droning on about how shitty he thinks TFA is. If nothing else, it shows he doesn’t know to use the quote function properly.

Just because he mentioned it once doesn’t mean he’s talking about it. Dat SW Guy put TFA above the PT and RO below, that’s what he’s responding to. You even cut out the part where Frink mentioned TFA. Clearly you made a mistake, I’m just shocked, I didn’t know the Truth™ made mistakes.

Gotta disagree with that. I had issues with TFA’s plot… but TPM and AOTC are both far bigger messes. Neither of those movies even makes sense.

I mean, the entire premise of TPM is that Sidious wants Padme to sign a treat that would end the crisis on Naboo (and I won’t even get into how little the entire blockade and invasion makes sense)… yet if Padme had actually signed the treaty, it would have ruined Sidious’s plan to use the crisis to take over. IT MAKES NO SENSE

What? My issues with Rogue One don’t bar me from liking new things in Star Wars. For me Rogue One fails in pacing and character setup and then just ends with 45 minutes of Star Wars porn. It’s not terrible but I find it pretty boring with the only interesting parts being anything involving the villains yelling at each other over who gets the Death Star. Rogue One was a pretty good concept but I just don’t like it. I really like TFA and I’m definitely on the hype train for TLJ.

My slightly revised rankings. It hurts to move Jedi from the top spot 😦

1. The Empire Strikes Back (I just can no longer deny that this one is better than Jedi)
2. Return of the Jedi (Close second though)
3. A New Hope
4. The Force Awakens (No Starkiller Base would probably get this in the third spot)
5. Rogue One (A mostly awkward movie that ends up being okay)
6. Attack of the Clones (This movie is so bad it’s good. I still watch it just to laugh at it)
7. Revenge of the Sith
8. The Phantom Menace
   I basically never watch Sith or Menace

The last part refers to what was established in the first sentence. The longer version of it would be “But if you think the PT is better made than either TFA or RO (those two movies), or…”. It is basic grammar.

I wish George would have sold Lucasfilm right after Return of the Jedi just so the prequels and kingdom of the crystal skull never existed. Just imagine how great a proper backstory would have elevated the Original Trilogy. We probably would have a few more decent Indiana Jones movies too.

I’m also pretty sure that if Lucas had sold Lucasfilm sooner we would currently have cures for aids and cancer, world peace, the end of racism, and we would all happily live in corn fields in a beautiful sunlight next to chocolate rivers along with our squirrel friends, singing all day long.
