To be truthful, I didn’t want this position originally. My boss sort of suddenly decided she wanted to move on to bigger and better things. I am not technically qualified for the full position at present, though I am pursuing my PMHNP (psych nurse practitioner), and I will fully qualify then. I had been the educator on my floor for two years and was kinda the first pick for many of my then-coworkers when my boss announced her pending departure, but I feel somewhat overwhelmed. My wife’s encouragement finally motivated to take the plunge.
I’ve had little training, and mostly learn by getting slapped on the wrist by administration when I screw up. It’s been a rough learning curve, though I feel like I’m doing some good and like I am slowly catching on. I don’t see my family much lately, and school is stressful. I feel all three emoticons. I really am enjoying it, but it’s also very hard and some days I want to throw in the towel. But then I think of all I’m learning and the good I’m doing and I don’t want to quit.

I would probably enjoy the new MST3K a lot more if my Netflix streaming could at least stay at 480 for a few minutes. Alas, I’m stuck shifting between 240-384p.

The strangest part is that now it can actually stay around 384-480p during the movie, but immediately dips to 240 in host segments. As if it’s timed to make host segments unwatchable.

Haha yeah I wish I still had this problem, because at least I could still kinda watch. Now the stream keeps cutting out altogether. I hate ATT, I hate Netflix, I hate all of this.

I will say that for some reason Netflix performs much better on my WiiU than on my PC. Why, since the PC is connected through ethernet and the wii u through wifi, is anybody’s guess. The resolution isn’t any worse on the PC but the frame rate stutters sometimes, and it never does this on the wiiu. But from what I’ve read that’s just a bug in the netflix app for pc.

I know it sounds like bullshit, but if you call them and complain, maybe they can do something about it? My friend had horrible DSL from Verizon for years and the only way his family could get it to improve was to call them - the improvements were always short-lived, but they did something every time. Worth a shot if you can stand being on the phone and giving someone a polite but concerned riot act. Threatening to switch/mentioning competitors’ upcoming deals always helps.

I can’t threaten to switch because they’re, for some reason, all I can get where I live (which is kinda out in the woods), so their apparent monopoly over us prevents them from ever feeling bothered to help us.
