Yet another questionable movie that has received more love than the OT on Blu Ray.

I’ll gladly watch Manos uncut, but this one might require lots of alcohol. 😉

Hmm, I think I’ll have to check out Manos, since everyone says such “great things” about the movie. 😃

Did people miss this? It’s kind of slight, but it’s a series of animated shorts, featuring the actresses reprising their roles, that’ll be put on Youtube and then as a TV special:

I imagine it’ll probably be aimed at young audiences and they are really short (2-3 minutes) but it’s still a cool little concept.

The toys they are putting out are terrifying. Don’t look for the Chewbacca one if you value your sanity.

It seems like people are really embracing the new characters. In fact, the big question people ask me now about Star Wars is, “Are Finn and Poe gay lovers?” And really how the f*ck would I know? My second husband left me for a man, so my gaydar isn’t exactly what you’d call Death Star level quality. ----Carrie Fisher

That’s hardly the worst Chewie Hasbro has ever done. 😉

This had probably already been asked before, but does anyone know what source(s) were used for those “Bad Lip Reading” videos? It doesn’t look like the official Blu-rays were used.

Manos is fine and all (that Torgo theme really sticks with you), but I actually like the short that precedes it better (“Hired!”). But I’m a big fan of those rare moments where absolutely nothing they can say could possibly make it weirder.

Sounds interesting, I’ll check that out too. Thanks. 😃

While Lucasfilm was once again letting us down at celebration, we were on family vacation hitting up a couple national parks. One of our stops was Death Valley. While it wasn’t the thrust of our trip there, I did take advantage of the chance to see a few of the locations used as parts of Tatooine. Kinda cool that it coincided with the 40th anniversary.

I tried to make it look like we were sand people, rather than just doing black blobs over our faces. But I’m working with the iPad photo markup tool… so…

Below is Golden Canyon, one of the locations used to film the Jawas capturing R2.

^I’ve always wondered how someone in a Trek-like future would react to watching Star Wars.

One of the characters on Star Trek:Voyager was a fan of a Flash Gordon-esque movie serial, (and 20th century culture in general) and recreated episodes on the Holodeck, in glorious black and white.

Hahaha!

On the Death Valley pics - that’s great. I didn’t know some parts of Tatooine were outside of North Africa. I would love to check that out.

Thanks guys, for anyone interested in scoping out Death Valley shooting locales, this page was indispensable. For me, traveling with toddlers, just seeing the general areas/canyons was neat enough (plus we were there for family vacation and Star Wars sites were just an added bonus). But if you’ve got more time and energy, you can hunt down the exact pieces of scenery in various scenes.

The one exception for me was the view of mos eisley. That I wanted to see the exactly. Fortunately, it’s by far the easiest to do because it happens to be THE main view from Dante’s View. If you drive up there, you can’t possibly miss it.

We’re only a couple of months away from the 20-year Anniversary of when TPM started shooting. So how come Ewan McGregor doesn’t look anything like the same age as Alec Guinness did in SW? 😉

He still has 8 years left to look like Alec Guiness right? 😉

Rogue One is redundant. Just play the first mission of DARK FORCES.

Darth Vader was supposed to be his first and last name right?

Since Obi-Wan talks about him as being called that before he went to the Dark Side and then calls him “Darth” when they’re being friendly, that’s the theory.
