So what would you have done?

I’ll give you a real answer, though. I would not have done what Trump did. I probably wouldn’t get militarily involved at all. And that’s not to say that Assad’s a swell guy, he’s not, but the US getting involved in this kind of thing always ends poorly.

I don’t have an answer because I don’t follow international politics or foreign policy as close as I should. But I think doing nothing would be the wrong move, so I can’t kill Trump too much over this.

Also, apparently Scott Adams is a Syrian chemical weapons truther.

http://blog.dilbert.com/post/159264981001/the-syrian-gas-attack-persuasion

I have followed his blog for years. It used to be cool, mostly stuff about city design and gadgets. Then he boarded the Trump train and the comments section went from nerdy engineer people to ‘Liberal Tear Drinkers’ from the 7th level of Hell. I still read that blog when I think my blood pressure isn’t quite high enough.

Scott Adams is the sort of person who is right about just enough stuff to make his philosophy sound monstrously wrong to my ears, in the way that a minor chord differs from a major one by only a single note.

You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.

Was Dilbert ever funny? I only saw the cartoon version.

Where were you in '77?

Occasionally, it was very funny, in a sort of Nihilist Memes way. But since Scott has apparently drunk his own cynical Kool-aid, I don’t think that he’s even trying to be funny - Dilbert’s philosophy does in fact mirror the cynicism of Scott. So it’s just not funny anymore, at least for me.

The “7 of 9” Alarm Clock episode was hilarious. Jeri Ryan did a great job.

President Trump is considering a broad shakeup of his White House that could include the replacement of White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and the departure of chief strategist Steve Bannon, aides and advisers tell us.

A top aide to Trump said he’s contemplating major changes, but that the situation is very fluid and the timing uncertain: “Things are happening, but it’s very unclear the president’s willing to pull that trigger.”

It would be pretty amazing if both Priebus and Bannon would be out before 100 days are up. But even if this report is 100% true it doesn’t mean either one will actually be gone.

Glad our arrogant Pres. is enjoying his taxpayer funded golf outing after announcing the US should take military action against Syria

Wasn’t this the sort of thing they complained about Obama doing?

Yes, quite literally. i believe that is the point Frink is making.

Umm… check the date on that tweet. 3 Sep 2013.

Actually I missed the date so I screwed up, but it’s now hilariously relevant. I’m guessing Hannity is not going to apply the exact same standard this time.

I am not surprised to see this happening. I mentioned a page or two back (or more) that Priebus may be finding his way back to Wisconsin although we don’t need him either. Trump would be smart to let these two go.

No, he won’t. And if anyone tries to point it out, he’ll ignore it or change the subject. I’m with Jon Stewart on this: Hannity is ruining the country.

I gave you the benefit of the doubt, assumed you were making a hilarious joke. Like Hannity is.

Hannity, as questionable as he is considered, is not to blame for ruining the country. This started long before he had a say in anything.

No, but he contributes to the vitriol and mixes just enough fact in with fiction to make it hard to know how to separate them. There are so many people who really don’t know any better but to take the things he and Rush say as gospel rather than with what should be a prerequisite block of salt. Such people aren’t just uninformed, they have willfully been misinformed.

Also, I’m not a liberal, but the conservative media crazies, especially Hannity and Rush, drive me up the freaking wall. And by far my biggest pet peeve ever, myself being a Christian, is for people to usurp my faith and wield it as a tool to score political points. The Republican Party does that A LOT and I really can’t stand it.

There is a misinformation war on in this country right now. I don’t follow Hannity or Rush. I do watch some of Hannity’s interviews because I’m more interested in the ones being interviewed than him. I am also not a fan of the religious/politics train.

Along those lines, I heard Trump’s speech about Syria yesterday night, and he invoked God a lot, which should be infuriating to any religious person given how Trump is the last person who should be doing anything in God’s name. Granted, lots of politicians do this, but it’s especially ridiculous when Trump does it.
