It’s probably because I’m an angst ridden 15 year old and can’t stand seeing happy go lucky, sickly sweet 12 year olds.

People genuinely playing off of each other in real time will almost always make me laugh more than an objectively well-crafted joke. I love Rick and Morty for this same reason.

I’d be interested how R&M works when both of them are voiced by the same guy. I’m not making fun, I’m genuinely interested in the process behind it.

Sorry for the extremely late answer. I’ve done a little bit of improv, and I never knew what I was going to say, things just came out of my mouth as if it’s completely separate from my brain. Sometimes I’d be genuinely surprised at what I had just said, and so I was able to have a genuine reaction to what I was saying the same way someone else might react. I assume it’s a similar situation for Roiland.

Anyone have an opinion about Vikings? It has been recommended to me by 3 or 4 people, all female. This is quite out of step with my usual female-to-male television program recommendation ratio. It usually came up when talking about Game of Thrones. I have talked with plenty of guys about Game of Thrones and nary a mention of this Vikings business. Now, at the risk of disparaging the fairer sex… is this a rubbish show with hot guys in it?

I spent the last three days watching my way through the first season of this show on YouTube. This is the first time I’ve watched it since '96. Unlike most of the shows I liked as a kid, I think it still holds up pretty well. There’s some wonky acting, to be sure, but most child actors are wonky actors, so it can be excused.

I really didn’t expect to enjoy the 2012 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon, but my younger brother recently got one of the DVD’s, and I’ve found myself enjoying it just as much as him. The art style, voice acting and characterisation of the titular characters are great.

Oh yeah, Nickelodeon’s TMNT is fantastic. You can tell everyone working on it are fans.

I’ve finished making it through four long seasons of Ronald D. Moore’s Battlestar Galactica. I was quite satisfied when it came to an end. Wonderful show, though I hated the cinematography every minute of it. If only they had let him make Voyager like this, but then again, he probably wouldn’t have made this if that happened.

I still wish the original was better. I like it a lot, but it can be rather shallow and downright silly a lot of the time.

I tried watching the Battlestar Galactica reboot, but I couldn’t make it past the first part of the initial mini-series. I then tried watching the original Battlestar Galactica, and I made it through the pilot, but I wasn’t left with a desire to continue watching from there.

Battlestar Galactica has a good premise, but neither execution of it left me with anything but a lukewarm impression.

Anyone like Master of None? I’ve watched the first few episodes, and in some ways it’s a fairly formulaic sitcom (for a present day non-laugh-track sitcom). But Aziz has a great spark, and his Indian background gives him some new ground to mine. His parents are great, for instance.

(And yeah I know I’m way behind the times on it)

Yeah, Moore had stated that Voyager should’ve embodied the Year of Hell storyline themes right from the start. His reboot of BSG is a rare case where the original source material is well and truly surpassed.

Speaking of which, during the early 80s I had BSG: The Movie on VHS and wore the tape right out. In recent years I purchased the German Koch Blu-ray box set and although I enjoyed the nostalgia of watching Saga of a Star World, much of the subsequent series, with the retrospect of adult eyes, feels cringeworthy and toned down to probably appease the TV network. The only episodes I’d probably re-watch are of course, the pilot and the Galatica 1980 standout, The Return of Starbuck

Most recent web series: The Man in the High Castle - which I absolutely loved and I’m looking forward to the next season.

Yeah you’re waaay late but it is great. Best part is it gets even better in the later episodes.

Can’t wait for the second season.

“Iron Fist” (2017)
This was the weakest of the Marvel / Netflix bunch for me. It was fun to watch, but I did roll my eyes a lot. Not very original at all.

The season premiere of Rick and Morty season three was exactly what I wanted and more. Just awesome.

I third that. Really impressed by Aziz through that show. It does start out a bit weak like you said, but it has heart (as they say).

Atlanta (Donald Glover) will be next I assume?

I’ve heard of Atlanta but know nothing of Donald Glover. I was already well-familiar with Aziz due to Parks and Rec and his standup specials, and even his guest appearance on Flight of the Conchords.
