I can accept Star Wars as fantasy but this is my one curiosity. Where does the English language originate from in the SW universe??
I’m pretty sure English is used as an analogue for whatever standardized language they all seem to speak. In every movie besides SW they also have a different alphabet.

in the 97 special edition i wish they’d replaced the Emperor performance from Empire Strikes Back with footage filmed with Ian McDiarmid during the production of Return of The Jedi. what they replaced it with like 25 yrs later. was gahbage and he didn’t look like he did in RotJ.
i must also say that it’s better that the 97SE used the original emperor footage because this is originaltrilogy.com after all.
They coulda made him CG like they did with Marlon Brando in Superman returns. Or like they did with that old guy in Episode Rougue One.

I’m invited to a Star Wars marathon, and they insist on starting with the prequels. Not only that, but they will defend the prequels. Thankfully I convinced them to use Harmy’s Despecialized for the OT. Since they don’t care either way for the alterations (though I wish they did), I was able to get my way.
I just wish I didn’t have to waste 6 hours on the PT. I watched the Holiday Special today to brace myself, but I found the Holiday Special much more enjoyable than AOTC and ROTS. Why am I surrounded by people who call ROTS their favorite of the series?

It’s not just that it is a waste of time. It’s that the entire story is different if you watch Episodes 1-6. It’s not even the same story as the OT.
To each their own, but I would never participate in this kind of thing.
I participate in anything that goes out of the way to get me involved in it. Plus, deciding not to visit people I can’t see all the time just because I don’t like the movies they’re showing seems somewhat petty.

Rebels is cool or whatever, but after they directly tie into the events of Rogue One (if they ever do) they should do a Season (or five seasons) of stories set after the events of Return of the Jedi, before The Force Awakens.

I would love to see an expensive CGI show/TV movie event that involves Luke Skywalker with Mark doing the VO. It seems weird to me they haven’t used his talents thus far.

You’re not stupid, but no, no it doesn’t.
Aside from the story-breaking (il)logic of Anakin’s saber being red, I prefer the color contrast of two blue lightsabers against a fiery red backdrop.
Besides which, having both sabers be the same color is an interesting metatextual comment on the duel between these former friends. Much more so than most of the dialogue, in fact.

I actually kinda liked the lightsaber being red for that fight better than when it was blue. But that’s not what makes the edit more compelling. All the edits to the dialogue make that scene work SOOOO much better. It also looks like they edited out some of the most ridiculous lightsaber moves (don’t get me wrong, pretty much NONE of what they’re doing looks like actual sword fighting) which also helps it look more convincing as a fight.
