Everybody’s going to be surprised when the Han Solo movie is great and I’m going to be here thinking I’ve been saying that all along.

Let’s see…Even if the guy playing Han doesn’t do well a really good script can compensate for that. For me at least.

Word. I wonder how many of these people will eventually stop liking the OT as well. I think attitudes like that tend to spread as time goes on.

Great or not, I’m just not interested in it. I feel about as apathetic about Star Wars as I did about the Carrie remake. Which is really sad but I guess it just proves to me that I was never a Star Wars fan, just a fan of three specific movies.

Being “a fan” is really overrated. I’m the same as you except I’m just a fan of five specific movies and I’m looking forward to more.

I retain my ability to enjoy good things. I enjoyed R1. But I have never had the ability enjoy crap like PT and TFA.

Well I am not saying the film itself will be good or bad. I am just saying (from experience) that a new actor will not work for me.

That’s too bad

I have no doubt he’ll do well, or he wouldn’t have been picked. The question is whether he’ll meet fans unreasonable and in many ways misguided expectations.

No matter what parts and pieces of the Star Wars world you enjoy, it is without question a great time to be a fan.

One thing remains…A Blu-Ray release of the OUT. I can die a happy man when I finally see those.

Maybe they haven’t lost anything and just didn’t care much for a movie that came out in 2015.

^ I agree, but like I said in my earlier post, Harmy & Co. have given us fantastic HD versions to enjoy. I really doubt an official release would be better.

I remember getting a thorough asschewing 3 years ago for saying this but with the v2.5 out and shit you have to wonder how better a official would be.

I don’t think he was talking about you specifically though your indifference definitely created the spark.

Whoever it was who was already expecting to hate the Han movie because of “modern pretty boy actors” is what made me post, I forget who it was already. This general hatred for all things contemporary that I see here sounds like an awful way to live.

Edit: I checked again and Darth Id actually said that.

As for my issue with diffident actor for the same character concept, it takes me out of the film in the same way as CGI takes some people out the film. I simply cannot stand it appearance-wise.

Eh, I enjoyed the adventures of Young Indiana Jones:

The Han Solo spinoff is no different.

Don’t worry, people just like to complain. Alot of them still watch it anyway.

Sean Patrick Flannery still looks pretty good these days. I’d love to see him get a shot at playing an older Indy, but I imagine Lucasfilm has other ideas.

Where were you in '77?

Except for this guy…

Right there with you. This has only increased as more movies have come out. TFA was great, but doesn’t do enough to warrant classic-status. Rogue One irritated me. Neither of them are bad enough to skip in a marathon, like the prequels are. I expect I’ll feel similarly about the others.

I generally feel the same way. Someone said hating everything contemporary is a miserable way to live life; they’re probably right. Being surrounded by contemporary-minded people in a contemporary world and hating contemporary things won’t work out for long. But, trends of contemporary movies don’t last forever, and pretty-boy actors get on my nerves too. Can’t wait until it becomes unfashionable again, like it did in the 70s to some extent.

I just now noticed where Darth tells his men to set their weapons to stun in Episode V. I guess that’s why Leia didn’t die when she got hit in Episode VI. Since the lasers have a stun setting they didn’t have to make the Storm troopers shoot so bad. They coulda winged a couple people once in a while. Is there any other times when stun was used in the movies?

She got hit in the shoulder. Hardly a fatal wound.

Yeah, in the first movie, when that one stormtrooper floors Leia with a blue blast.

Alden Ehrenreich is no more a pretty boy actor than Harrison Ford was in 77.

Well, now I’m really curious what you said.

I wanted to make sure everyone saw that someone agreed with me!!!
