But if I was surrounded by a country that distrusted me and looked at me sideways at the McDonald’s or tailed me while I was shopping at the mall. Or moved to the other side of the street when I passed them. Or called me racial slurs. Or if their news was constantly calling my people terrorists, or drains on society, or unMiddle-Eastern, I might start to wonder if maybe I wasn’t welcome. Maybe over time I’d start to resent and hate them. Maybe I’d meet other American refugees with similar experiences who believed more radical things than I did and I’d start listening to them.

You should have added “or if a candidate for leadership in said country talked about banning people like you from entering the country and then that candidate won the election”

There is no logical explanation that would make this a positive reason to become a terrorist.

Nothing breeds terrorists more than treating people like terrorists.

I had a dialog with him on the matter so yes, I read what he wrote, but some of you are needlessly exagerrating things. IMO anyways.

http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-federal-order-travel-ban-20170201-story.html

A federal judge in Los Angeles has added another legal challenge to President Trump’s controversial suspension of travel from a group of predominantly Muslim countries, issuing an emergency order that forbids government officials from enforcing many of the new rules.

Using sweeping, unambiguous language, U.S. District Judge Andre Birotte Jr. on Tuesday night granted a temporary restraining order against the executive order Trump signed late last week.

Birotte’s ruling came in a case hastily filed Tuesday on behalf of 28 Yemeni-born people. The group consists of United States citizens living here and family members who remained behind in Yemen but had received immigrant visas to come to the U.S., according to court filings.

Anyone see this? I’m looking to see if there is any further info on it.

I don’t know the policy of Planned Parenthood regarding ultrasounds, but it sounds like they are required when having an abortion. I don’t see how this is particularly shocking, but again I don’t know. The comments on the website certainly give me pause.

You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.

I guess I was just wondering because I thought they were avid supporters of Women’s Rights and Care. I thought they offered Ultrasounds all the way around which is obviously not the case apparently.

The Democrats are not doing well, they didn’t show up to the hearings for Trump’s nominees so the committee rules were suspended to allow them to continue without the party, and now the Senate will revoke the filibuster for the Supreme Court nomination.

If Dems continue to be a no-show, we’ll effectively end up in a one-party system fast.

I just remember Dominic saying that it was only the Republican’s who were making it all about “sides” and I did not agree. I certainly don’t relish being right at least some of the time but it’s been more than obvious that it is happening. People fear change but change is here and we either go down complaining or we find a way to make it positive for everyone as best we can.

Your post made me think this had happened but at this point it’s not even clear if the Dems will force it, let alone if the the Repubs will follow through with it.

What a scandal!

Why you find this funny is beyond me.

I don’t. I find the conservative reaction to it sad but predictable, because it’s a made up story.

I don’t think anyone here suggested there was a scandal.

The Blaze did. And the people who made the video did.

Also, while looking at their homepage, I noticed they don’t exactly lay out the information openly.

Sorry if that was unclear, but I think it’s almost a certainty. Trump has endorsed they do this, giving them any justification they need. Seeing as they essentially did the same thing in the less-formal committee, I don’t see why they wouldn’t go through with it in the Senate if they could.

Trump Says ‘Go Nuclear’ as Democrats Gird for Gorsuch Fight
President Trump, seeming to relish a fight with Democrats over his nominee to the Supreme Court, encouraged the Senate majority leader, Mitch McConnell, on Wednesday to invoke the so-called nuclear option and abandon the 60-vote threshold for confirmation.

“If we end up with that gridlock, I would say, ‘If you can, Mitch, go nuclear,’” the president said.

Democrats are weighing strategies for opposing the nomination of Judge Neil M. Gorsuch and debating how aggressively to pursue a battle over a seat that many of them believe was stolen from their party.

We also both did agree that it should not be this way but it is. And you’re not like Frink so don’t let him drag you down. 😉

Trump continues to make us less safe.

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-extremists-program-exclusiv-idUSKBN15G5VO

The Trump administration wants to revamp and rename a U.S. government program designed to counter all violent ideologies so that it focuses solely on Islamist extremism, five people briefed on the matter told Reuters.

The program, “Countering Violent Extremism,” or CVE, would be changed to “Countering Islamic Extremism” or “Countering Radical Islamic Extremism,” the sources said, and would no longer target groups such as white supremacists who have also carried out bombings and shootings in the United States.

It’s only partially made up. And I said homepage, not subsequent other pages relating to pregnancy and prenatal care where it still doesn’t mention openly that ultrasounds for anything other than abortions are only done at “some” facilities and not all.
