I wrote all my Congressional representatives today. Here’s what I wrote:
I am a concerned citizen from ******, and I would like you to actually represent me in this matter.
Donald Trump is a disaster. In less than two weeks he’s weakened every aspect of our country and our lives. He’s issuing Executive Orders to override your work in Congress without consulting you and is removing anyone who stands up against him. The brilliant part of our republic are the checks and balances. If Trump insists on removing those who try to check him, you need to check him right back.
Don’t let history look back on your decisions in this time and say “I wish he would have stood up.” You need to stand up against this. Trump is throwing a coup, and you are complicit in it unless you do something about it.
Stand against his Cabinet choices. He’s already proven he wants puppets he can control to get what he wants.
Force him to release his tax returns. The fact that he refuses is proof he has something to hide.
Force him to remove himself from his businesses. Every decision he makes should be under investigation to ensure it’s not putting money directly into his pockets.
If he refuses to listen to Congress, which is the actual representation of the people, NOT the President, then he must be impeached.
Don’t hesitate. The time for action is now.

The White House said on Monday that President Trump would leave in place a 2014 Obama administration order that created new workplace protections for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.
In a statement issued in response to growing questions about whether Mr. Trump would reverse the Obama order, the White House said the president was proud to embrace gay rights.
“President Trump continues to be respectful and supportive of L.G.B.T.Q. rights, just as he was throughout the election,” the statement said. “The president is proud to have been the first ever G.O.P. nominee to mention the L.G.B.T.Q. community in his nomination acceptance speech, pledging then to protect the community from violence and oppression.”
The decision to keep the order, the statement added, was Mr. Trump’s. It uses stronger language than any Republican president has before in favor of equal legal protections for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people, though that is not likely to quiet Mr. Trump’s critics on the left.
The move could also anger conservatives who had hoped a Republican president would end some socially liberal policies.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious. If the original was of such concern President Obama should have excised it with an Executive Order, right? There are plenty of “alternative facts” floating around this thread from others that seem to think the current media is honest and unbiased and that is clearly not the case. Sadly, these same folks thought the media was lying about Hillary Clinton being crooked when she was running, so I’m not sure what to tell you.
I posted the video for the interview alone, not to question the complexity of reality.
A few months (weeks?) back I would have said this is unnecessarily alarmist…but now I’m not so sure.
