Respect is earned. You keep saying you understand that you shouldn’t make these threads and then you make them anyway.

I do get rather annoyed with your constant antagonizing of TV’s Frink. You have accused him multiple times of picking on you, yet whenever you get the chance, you say something obnoxious in reference to him. For instance, Spuff’s threads are clearly inappropriate, and even though Frink politely gives him advice, you feel some self-righteous need to justify Spuff’s threads and criticize Frink. You need to get a new hobby. You’ve made it your personal quest to get offended by every word some folks type, and your calling in life to bring your version of order to Off Topic. It was not at shot at him though it was in response to what he said. We have members that clearly want to be respected but are particular about whom they show it to in return. I tend to be more general now to avoid said issue. As for moderating anything, please, I’m encouraging him to not let some get him down. You read too much in to what I’ve said without asking first.

Being annoyed is your business but there is no reason I cannot try to encourage a member to not let some get the best of them. I was plainly given similar advice that I have been trying to make more use of by making fun of myself publicly and other little adjustments.

seems to indicate to me that you don’t allow for any commentary that might dampen anyone’s spirit. Look, there is a culture here as much as there is in real life. In a way, interaction in this culture requires some adherence to cultural norms. When someone violates those norms, it is okay to point it out. We don’t have to bend over backwards to make sure we don’t hurt someone’s feelings. On the other hand, we don’t have to be insulting. Sometimes a little humor and a little correction can help someone get in line. But you are hellbent on changing the culture to fit your concept, often directly or indirectly attacking Frink. Even if you do so generally, it is obvious that you are referring primarily to him.

He and I agree on little politically, religiously, or in other areas. You and I have more in common than he and I. Your perception of him as some horrible bully is inaccurate in my mind. Maybe he should tone it down at times so as not to inadvertently hurt some sensitive soul like Spuffure, but I don’t for a moment believe he would truly intend to cause him emotional pain.

I can tell you in all honesty, though, that Off Topic was far more enjoyable before you came in here like Wyatt Earp, acting like it was up to you to clean up this town. I honestly believe you are a nice guy with the best of intentions, but you take everything so personally, are inflexible in your beliefs, and unwilling to concede that you might be wrong about some things. You are obsessive about particular topics, and anyone who challenges your views is offensive to you and you dismiss them as another bully. I have seen many people attempt to engage with you productively, but you irrationally shut them down. And at the end of the day, you still act as if you are being wronged, always trying to frame yourself as the noble one, but to any outsider, you are seen as the primary antagonizer.

Sometimes, it’s just best if you keep your thoughts to yourself, instead of injecting your overly opinionated thoughts into the discussion. Often, I feel the need to reply to something I disagree with. Then I think about it and decide against it. You seem to be unable to ever do this.

I’m not really getting this feeling with the other posts you’ve just made.

I have noticed an improvement in your behavior. But what I saw that prompted my posts was evidence of what I’ve been suspecting for the past few days, which is a return to previous behavior. But I assure you, the improvements I’ve noticed are real and appreciated.
