Zuckerberg seems prepped to run for president. He dismisses it now, but so did Hillary for the longest time.

I don’t really like the road we’re taking, certainly privacy issues will not improve under a Zuckerberg administration (and they certainly aren’t in a Trump one), Zuckerberg’s actions with Facebook have helped exacerbate the problem. But I think I’d still take him over Hillary, and especially Trump, neither of which promised any improvement in my area of concern.

Speculation that Mr Zuckerberg might run for president was fuelled when he made political comments and announced a tour of US states. The 32-year-old would be old enough to stand for president in 2020.

In April 2016, Fortune reported that Facebook had agreed changes to its company structure that would allow Mr Zuckerberg to stand in an election. He has also softened his approach to religion, describing it as “very important”, in a Christmas post. Mr Zuckerberg had previously described himself as an atheist, which might have limited his appeal with some US citizens.

In January, he announced a “personal challenge” to visit and speak to people in every US state, including 30 he had not visited before. Presidential candidates typically tour US states to drum up support.

Senior Trump administration staffers including Kellyanne Conway, Jared Kushner, Sean Spicer and Steve Bannon have active accounts on a Republican National Committee email system, Newsweek has learned.

The system (rnchq.org) is the same one the George W. Bush administration was accused of using to evade transparency rules after claiming to have “lost” 22 million emails.

Making use of separate political email accounts at the White House is not illegal. In fact, they serve a purpose by allowing staff to divide political conversations (say, arranging for the president to support a congressional re-election campaign) from actual White House work. Commingling politics and state business violates the Hatch Act, which restricts many executive branch employees from engaging in political activity on government time.

But after then-candidate Donald Trump and the Republicans repeatedly called for “locking up” Hillary Clinton for handling government work with a private server while secretary of state, the new White House staff risks repeating the same mistake that dogged the Democrat’s presidential campaign. They also face a security challenge: The RNC email system, according to U.S. intelligence, was hacked during the 2016 race. “They better be careful after making such a huge ruckus over the private email over at the State Department,” says former Bush administration lawyer Richard Painter.

Is this not the exact reason many people claimed to not be voting for Hillary? Am I wrong?

Donald Trump, the man who ran an entire campaign on how Hillary shouldn’t be president because of her private email server now has his very own private email server. But now it’s suddenly okay? Can anyone defend this?

Why am I not even a tiny bit surprised?

How can anyone be happy with how this presidency has been so far? It’s not even about policy anymore, this dickwad has been objectively bad in so many ways. The fact that those on the right will still defend shows how blindly partisan some are.

I’m sure it’s okay because he’s got a crowd of kids these days on some bigly security for the cyber.

Keep Circulating the Tapes.

As far as I know, no-one has stated or found that this private server is in his home. They have to follow the Disclosure Rules set out in 2014 which is something that Hillary Clinton did not do so until something actually happens they are within the Governments own regulations on such matters.

You do realize Trump said that, right?

(actually he said “400 pound”)

It was Trumpy who invoked the fat hacker stereotype when assigning blame for the Russia hacking. Because his BFF Vlad would never condone such a thing.

It’s ok if a Republican says it.

Widespread fears about the future — including concerns about politics, the economy, the environment and all-out nuclear war — have led some people to prepare for ways to defend themselves. The “survivalists” include some Silicon Valley executives, who worry about the tech future they have helped to create.

Not that bad of an idea.

I honestly don’t get what’s up with this thread. When did Trump create a stereotype of 400 pound hackers?

Donald J. Trump said:

“I mean, it could be Russia, but it could also be China. It could also be lots of other people. It also could be somebody
sitting on their bed that weighs 400 pounds, OK? You don’t know who broke in to DNC.”

I don’t understand how that example is stereotyping or offensive in any way.

He’s also saying “big-league,” not “bigly.”

For his first week as president, I’m liking most everything I’m seeing. He’s pushing the pipeline forward, he has confirmed securing of the southern border, etc.

I mean at least you named a couple things you liked that he did, but that was surrounded by a bunch of shitting on fat people. Well done.

Also, everyone knows he’s saying big-league but it’s not our fault he can’t say it right.

Nobody said he created it. He merely invoked it, probably because he’s seen it in movies or on tv. (Both of which probably feed his knowledge on computer technology.) I’ve seen the fat computer nerd stereotype going back to the late 80’s at least.

I’m fairly sure Russia is using vampires anyway. 😉
