The Animals That Went Extinct in 2016
The Bramble Cays Melomys is likely extinct.
The Rabb’s Treefrog has gone extinct.
The Stephan’s Riffle Beetle and Tatum Cave Beetle have gone extinct.
The Barbados Racer from, you guessed it, Barbados, is officially extinct.

^ That’s pretty well-done (although Sir George Martin should have gotten more prominent placement, especially given the otherwise irrelevant Beatles theme)
The Toblerone is a nice touch.

For you, yes. There are many others that none of us know personally that are missing as well. I’m not even sure a proper picture would fit in a post if everyone that passed was included.
true.

It should be noted that this article doesn’t try to debunk the idea, it simply tries to look at some theories and possibilities. There’s no real way to actually measure this.

No, no, no. She actually died in 2011. The thing that collapsed at WTC this year was just Clintclone No. 28. (I think the creature they propped up for the concession speech was No. 30, but not sure. They might have extended the pseudolife of NO. 29 rather than spawn an entire new one for such a limited purpose. It did after all look waaaaaaaay past its warranty…)
.
Just saw the news. She had a stroke today. 89 years old.
😦
Yet one more for 2016.

But we can still allow Warbler room to mourn. We’ve allowed everyone here a chance to mourn the loss of a Star Wars celebrity few here have ever met in person, fewer (probably none) here who knew her on a personal level, and yet you have to minimize Warbler sharing his feelings of loss about his own dad. He’s clearly not actually requesting the inclusion of his father in the picture. He’s just expressing the fact that beyond the loss of all these famous people, he feels a deeply personal loss. Let him grieve, man.

You misunderstood my post. I was just wanting to recognize that, like his father, there are many other non-famous people that have passed whom most of us will never hear about because they are not famous … that they are included in our mourning for those lost in 2016. There was no disrespect meant or implied. My apologies if anyone took away anything different from it.
no problem.
I did not know Joseph Mascolo died too.

Pour one out: The inventor of the red Solo cup has died
R.I.P. Robert Leo Hulseman.
He’s the man who invented the red Solo cup, staple at every party ever. He died last week at age 84. The Solo Cup Company was the family business, Hulseman’s dad started it in 1936, and Hulseman started working in the company factory when he was 18.

I am so very sorry to hear that. Believe me it’s true. I came extremelyclose to losing my father without him actually passing this year, and it was a very stressful time. I can only imagine the grief if he has actually gone. My condolences and best wishes.

This seems a bit inappropriate as a follow-up post to someone saying they lost their father this year.

It could be taken that way, but was not meant to be hurtful and unfeeling.
