Is anybody else a fan of TOS only? Or do you even know anybody else who is?
I don’t like TNG, DS9 or… that other show I saw 2 episodes of… I think the Quantum Leap guy was in it?
The only Trek film I’ve liked is TWOK. I haven’t seen all of the films though.
Anyways, I’ve never met anybody who only likes the original Trek. Am I all alone?

I love TOS and TNG. I didn’t like Ds9 in the beginning but I learned to love it. I didn’t learn to love Voyager. And I loved the first 3 seasons of Enterprise. Plus most of the first 9 movies.

I briefly corresponded with a guy who’s a complete TOS purist. He didn’t consider later entries in the franchise – including the TOS films – as true continuations of TOS.

Well there is truly a very different feel between TOS and the TOS cast movies. The movies adhere more closely to true science, are more serious, and make little reference to the series, the most direct being TWOK. I first fell in love with Star Trek because of the movies and had not even seen TOS. I can see why someone might like one and not the other. They could easily be separate characters set in the same universe.

My father grew up on TOS during it’s first run, and never watched any other Trek after until I showed him II, III, and Beyond all this year. Fun fact: He very nearly cried at the picture-cameo in Beyond.

To me, Star Trek was always a vision, it was never just a series or a movie. All Star Trek is enjoyable to me on some level, some more than others, but it is the message and the ideals inhabited by each incarnation that keeps me a fan.

I like the films and both TNG and DS9, but I think I ultimately prefer TOS by a fair degree. It’s what I think of when I think of Star Trek. (Though I do need to actually watch more DS9.)

I love TOS but have never been able to get into any of the other shows. I like most of the movies though.

BTW does anybody plan to do some colour correction of the clips? I plan to do some noise reduction, but I suck at colour correcting.

So, anybody here seen the Roddenberry vault already? I watched it yesterday and I loved every second of the documentaries, there are tons of deleted scenes, many of them truly great! But they need to be restored 😃

Thanks for your replies, guys! So, it’s just me and Dom, eh? 😉
I haven’t seen many of the movies. Just TMP, TWOK, …maybe SFS a long time ago… and Nemisis. The only one I liked was TWOK. From what I remember, TMP was just too long. Mainly because of VERY boring shots of the Enterprise floating around. I might give it another watch. Oh and I saw the first two of the new Trek movies too. Meh.
Is SFS any good? I saw it when I was very young. I know Kramer prefers it to TWOK…
