I was also annoyed with how they made the lightsaber blade look, as I was concerned that it’d be the default appearance. It wasn’t, and I was satisfied.

Best of all it fits Kylo perfectly. I’m glad we have things like that in Star Wars again.

It does, I agree. We need more weapons with personality in Star Wars (without being absurd like the Lightcopters), even if its as simple as more diversity in sabre blade colours.

I’d say that the lightwhip was one of the weirdest and most impractical lightsaber designs that ever existed in any canon (if it even counts).

I could see something like that making more sense if it behaved somewhat different physically from a lightsaber, ie, a plasma-whip which deals immense damage but doesn’t cut through metal like butter.

Didn’t Lumiya’s lightwhip from the 80’s Marvel comics kinda work like that?

Pretty much. It wasn’t even a pure lightwhip; it had metal cords with energy ribbons generated around them.

Right.

Now that actually makes a lot of sense to me. (At least as far as SW weapons go.) It’s actually a pretty cool idea. And it sure as he’ll makes a lot more sense than helicopter lightsabers.

Am I the only one who really likes the Darksaber design?

As I mentioned earlier in that other current lightsaber thread, I’ve grown to like the darksaber. While I don’t like the name “darksaber”, the shape of its blade, or the rationale behind its existence, I like do the inverted “white-with-black-core” colour scheme along with its unique sound effects.

I like the darksaber. The name seems like a natural choice to me (like a lightsaber, but dark!).

Hahahahahaha.

I’m sure in some dialects, “acclaimed” is used as a synonym for “denounced”.

I ragged on the darksaber in the colors thread, but it’s really the shape that bothers me.

Okay, I’ve actually found the worst possible lightsaber design. It’s absolutely abysmal. I bet no one can top this one in abject atrociousness.

I guess it could have been even more silly if he had rotating nippleblades.

Only if they allowed him to fly.

At what point can we go so over the top stupid that it goes right back around to being amusing to watch?

We’re close, but not quite there.

I know it’s made from old sink parts and an old grenade, but Obi-Wan’s saber in the OT (seen newer looking in RotS) is my favorite by far.
