That’s not nice, Ray.

Sorry. Just a joke.
I guess in a year where I’ve lost people I was actually close to, it’s harder than ever to care about celebrity deaths. I understand the attachments and the admiration, but it’s their work that we like and have attachments to, and thankfully we still have that.
Sorry if my comment offended anybody. Maybe it was darker than I intended.

No worries. A lot of kids in the 70’s wished their own family could be like The Brady Bunch, even if it wasn’t realistic.

I laughed at your Castro/Henderson redirect, Ray.

FWIW I find it weird the way people mourn over someone they never met, especially someone who lived a good long life and passed away surrounded by family and friends.

Possibly because our mental image of them is frozen in the time they did that thing we liked them for? People in our daily lives age more visibly.

I’ve never wanted that family, but I still want their house! That really was a swingin’ pad!
Also, Florence’s many anti-Brady-image appearances and cameos brought the lulz n smiles over the years!

The exterior is a real house in an L.A. suburb. Maybe it will come back on the market? There was a horror movie that actually used the Brady house set sometime after the show ended.

The MTV movie awards thing where she and Greg made out comes to mind. 😉

Did she do other Weird Al videos besides Amish Paradise?

I don’t find it weird at all. You enjoy someone’s performances and miss them when they are gone. Of course it is good that they lived a long live and passed away surrounded by family and friends. Also of that kind of mourning pales in comparison to the kind of mourning that takes place when you lose someone very close to you(and that’s an understatement).

When Hitler finally passes away I’m not gonna be hoping he rests peacefully.

Resting peacefully themselves isn’t always the meaning. To me it symbolizes an atonement of sorts, paying your final dues. To me it does not signify forgiveness of anything, there is apparently another place for that to be acknowledged.

Yeah but words mean things.

Fabulous, you’re a dictionary interpreter, of course words mean things. If you are unsure why they might use certain words for things then you should ask.

You are the one who is trying to assign meaning to “rest in peace” that has nothing to do with the three words being used.

Of course, because I see it differently than you do. I tried explaining that and obviously you’re too thick in the head to understand that not everyone sees the world the way you do even though you expect them to.

Things don’t work that way here or in the real world Frink. What will it take for you to actually comprehend that?

I’ll tell him to come back as a ghost and shout at your pets then.

Yes it is. Sheesh.

To you it is. To Frink it is. Not everyone in the entire world sees things exactly the same. Why that seems to be so difficult to understand is beyond me. It is not rocket science nor is it quantum physics.

I was right, you don’t understand that words have meaning and aren’t arbitrary things you can assign whatever meaning you want to.

I do not assign different meanings to words. I associate different things with the experience.

You’re younger than me so I don’t expect you to understand that everyone in the world finds different things in their life experiences. You seem to think that there is “one rule” to everything and that if it does not fall in to your definition of that “one rule” then it is meaningless.

Again, the world does not revolve around you, or your beliefs. If the only choice I had for a life was to be like you I’d rather be dead.

Oh FPS! Of all the threads to have a argument in. Take it elsewhere.
